I wonder if the assistant coaches know Babcock isnt coming back next year already. They are securing jobs now rather than wait till the new head coach shows up, and hires his own assistant coaches??
-
They extended Mrazek 1 year

There have been talks of him having these issues in the past, but not while he missed time this past season. Here are a couple articles: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/30/report-franzen-concussion-to-miss-olympics/ http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2014/01/red_wings_johan_franzen_withdr.html http://redwings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=696164 http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/wings/2014/01/10/johan-franzen-concussion-recovery/4407405/

Is the Real Brendan Smith Finally Starting the Show Up?
Rick D replied to NYC Wings Fanatic's topic in General
I just read this too. kinda blew my mind. I had no idea. -
just win

This is a really good point. there would have been no difference if we lost to Boston, and won tonight. We just need to win all we can from here on out. LGRW!!
-
He has been skating for a week or so now, and might play tonight. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=712306

We did really well against Pitt a couple weeks ago, and that was without Pav. He said on his twitter he might be back tonight, hes a gametime decision. For some reason we know how to beat Boston i think we only lost to them once this season. The team has played exceptionally well lately, and we are just starting to get healthy. To me this is a reason to be excited, and optomistic.
-
Im excited about this. Hopefully he can score some goals, and punch some faces.
-
Yeah, he looked pretty good to me. His beard must have broke his fall. Glad hes okay.

Budaj in net, and Franzen is back... I have a good feeling about tonight.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2014/01/detroit_red_wings_activate_jim.html Looks like Jimmy is good to go!!
-
Glendening played wing at UofM, he never played center until he got to GR. We could always keep both Sheahan and Andersson, and bump Glendening to the wing.
-
Did Jimmy poop his pants, or did I hear Mickey wrong??
-
Keep in mind that there is a lot more to a players game than the stat sheet, and points totals. Sheahan is making a really good name for himself, and some will have to go to make room for him sooner than later.
-
That line just got a whole lot more exciting. It will be really hard for anyone to out-work those three.
-
I was just thinking ithis too. If we need Grit, and big bodies, Cally would be a good option.
-
Every time i watch a game i say if that was anyone but cleary (ABC) that would have been a goal, or that pass would have went through, or they would have whatever. I dont hate the guy, he plays his @ss off. Its just a bummer that he cant seem to get his body to what it needs to anymore =\
-
So why are we hanging onto guys like Smith, and Kindl when we are this deep on D prospects??
-
I drove all the way up from Houston to take my Gf to her first game at the Joe. We got seats right behind the wings penalty box, just in time for Tootoo to come back haha. Dinner at Fish bones right now, we are so so pumped for this game =)
-
Yeah I would try to go every time the Griffs were down here. I loved those games. I sat on the glass for two of them, and the trainer gave me a Callahan stick at another one. Can't beat that =) I saw on the 24/7 a few years ago that the Pens do something like this in practice. You shoot till you make one, then the last guy to make one sucks, or something like that.

I was at a game in Houston last year where Smith actually scored a pretty nice goal in the shootout. Might not be too crazy of an idea.
