Tampa in 5 - Tampa is just too good. Could see them having an off game somewhere in here and Hall & fiends taking advantage of it though, so no sweep. Boston in 6 - I think Boston has what it takes to shut down Toronto’s young stars and that’ll be enough in a low scoring grindy series. Caps in 6 - Bobrovsky could steal a game or two and if Columbus stays out of penalty trouble, they could have a shot. I think the caps power play will be too much to overcome here though. Phillayyy in 7 - Ok, I can admit this one is more of what I want to see than what I think will happen but I do think it’ll be a closer series than a lot of people think. Hopefully Murray does his best Fleury impression. Preds in 4 - Preds take care of the Avs easily. I don’t see the Avs stacking up well against the Preds in any category. Jets in 4 - Jets, like the Preds, take care of Minny easily. The loss of Suter proves to be too much and the Jets/Preds set up what should be the most exciting second round series, with both teams well rested. Kings in 7 - Kings have the experience to make a solid playoff push whenever they make it to the post season. This experience proves to be enough, but Vegas doesn’t go down without a fight. There’s a chance this series ends up being the most exciting of round one. Perhaps it sets the stage for a regional rivalry between the two? Sharks in 7 - This will be another hard fought series. A lot of me picking this going to 7 games is dependent on Gibson getting back for game one. If he misses a good chunk of it, this series could be over quickly. If he’s healthy though, it’s a bit of a toss up and I like the Sharks better so I’ll go with them. Now the NHL can completely blow up my bracket, let’s go!

I’m sure it was; now it’s just a little longer of a summer workout. It just says that management views a longer summer in the gym as more beneficial to him/the team than getting him some more minor league hockey experience. I can agree with that.

The tweets show up fine for me. Looks like their bus was hit by a semi truck? that’s so terrible! My thoughts and prayers are with the team and their families. -
didn't know where to post this/didn't think it needed it's own post. but here's a good article... a little praise for a couple of our top prospects. enjoy. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2018/03/31/red-wings-prospects-michael-rasmussen-dennis-cholowski/475487002/ Maybe the most exciting note is Rasmussen's playoff so far:

Yeah it’s exciting for sure. Boqvist is another I’m more excited about the more I hear about him too. He sounds like the perfect defenseman for the style and speed of today’s game; incredible skater, dangerous with the puck on his stick, isn’t afraid to shoot, etc etc. We need more guys who aren’t afraid to shoot. He’s the style of defenseman i really like, so I’d be stoked to got him. His play is supposedly a little lacking in his own end though, which is always concerning.. but sounds like he’s making progress there. -
Haha right?! He’s been great for them.

Basically my thoughts as well. And I understand wanting better odds, it makes sense. But I don’t understand why people (not as frequently on here as other friends of mine who are fans) get SO upset over wins. A lot of wings fans around me have become very annoying. -
Daniel from Henrik in OT, to win their last game in Vancouver. Perfect.

Knowing our luck; wings will lose, habs and yotes will both win, nucks will lose, and whoever ends up with the 6th best odds will win the lottery -

Bouchard is the other early first D-man I’ve been liking more and more as I keep hearing about him too. I’d be stoked to get him. I’d be pretty happy with any of these scinerios really. But if we get second(or third and he’s still there), I’d prefer to take Svech over trading back. At the same time I see the logic of moving back though. -
That was the worst part! kidding (sort of)

Tampa vs Nashville in the finals would be my guess. Toss up of a matchup IMO. I'll give the slight edge to Tampa because they always seem to have a couple guys who can't stop scoring in the playoffs. Anyone but Pitt, Boston, or Toronto and I'm fine with it. It'd be cool to see Winnipeg, Washington, or Nashville win it all for me. I'm also a fan of LA but I'd like to see someone new win it I think. And was on the Vegas train until the Tatar trade like mentioned above.

Good to see the young guns putting up points. -
Don’t say that too loudly, Bettman wouldn’t be able to resist that level of marketability!

Yeah he looks a lot closer to NHL ready than expected. The tournament has got to be raising his stock. Also this -
Rooting for the Sharks feels kind of weird but that’s where I’ve been at lately.. they’re on a 7 game winning streak and I’m mostly just hoping they can catch Vegas. If they do, and Vegas gets swept out of the first round, our pick from them likely ends up somewhere in the late teens. Also, JVR would be great. I like him a lot. But without moving a guy or two out, I just don’t think we have the space for him. I am interested to see where he ends up though. I don’t think there’s any world where Green doesn’t re-sign with us; assuming all goes well with his surgery. And I’d love to have him back; he’s been one of my favorite players to watch. I’m just hoping it’s a one or two year deal at a lower cap hit than last time. I could live with 3 but I think 1 or 2 would be perfect.

Yeah, agreed for sure. I'm excited for Larsson and Peruzzelli's development too.. hopefully at least one of them pans out.

We've drafted one each of the last four years and every other year the 8 years before that. I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to draft one every year still, especially since we have no clear concrete plan after Howard. But I agree it shouldn't be until the 4th round at the very earliest.
