2/9 GDT Red Wings at Islanders 7:00 PM EST. RIP Brenden Smith edition.

Finally just caught up with the game highlights and that HUUUGE slash. Wow. NYI should’ve got the 5 for diving.... incredible. -
I assumed as much. just thought we could use some laughs around here once in a while.. other than laughing at the refs lately
-
Namestnikov wears #90 though.. that’s cursed around these parts

Mrazek and Darling: the most inconsistent goalie duo ever?

Judging by our trade history, maybe they already were

Brendan Smith is our trade deadline acquisition

Miss as big as possible and it’s still only what, an 18% chance? Don’t get your hopes up too high. But yeah, Dahlin is definitely the dream.
-
I wouldn't either. Definitely feels a bit high (in terms of what I'd be comfortable giving up) for only one guaranteed year. Would consider something like this years 1st, nyquist, and add another 2019 pick and/or prospect. But that doesn't sound like enough. 2019 non-first round pick that is*

Good points. Didn’t realize his contract was almost up.. so yeah, if he’s not interested in re-signing/wants too much money, I could see him getting traded. Agreed it’ll cost a ton.. but it might be worth it to the right team. I wonder how much more it would cost us than say a #5 pick this year.. not that we would/I’d want to give that up in a package though.

And Mittelstadt at #5.. I’m still a little bummed he got drafted right before we had the chance to take him -
More like: Oliver Ekman-Larson Interested teams: everyone. don’t really see why the coyotes would ever want to trade him.

Here’s a fun one maybe stop taking cheap shots then?? http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2018/02/05/brad-marchand-is-tired-of-being-labelled-a-goon/ Marchand just wants to do goon things but not be called a goon.... Led to a lot of good reddit comments such as “I’ve tried nothing and am all out of ideas!” “Immediately slewfoots reporter” ”it must really suck being labeled what you are.”

Official 2018 NHL Amateur Entry Draft Discussion Thread

Ouhh that is good news! Keep sucking, sens 4 picks in the top 40-45 would be pretty great. And Dahlin, Foote, and Tavares wouldn’t jumpstart the rebuild; along with our young talent on offense, they’d complete it -
Maybe we can manage to get Cal Foote/Mike Green swap (working out whatever details we need to). The Bob father also mentions nashville wanting a top 6 winger. If nyq and or Tatar are really on the market, they’d be interested and they always seem to have solid defensive prospects in the pipeline.
-
Same, he's one of the top guys I wanted leading up to the draft... which is why I put the .. i wasn't exactly subtle about it. Yeah, Theodore was mostly a joke. And yeah, the ducks were dumb to do that imo too. I think I'd lean Foote picking between him and Hague/obviously would love to have any of the three. That top pair would be stupid awesome even just a couple years down the line, let alone when they're REALLY in their primes. Imagine the reactions from fans around the league if within a 4 month span, we added Dahlin and Liljegren the new era Swedish mafia
-
What do we have to include with Green to get Shea Theodore? Hell, I’d be stoked for any of Liljegren, Hague, or Foote for Green straight up. Especially Liljegren haha (I’m sure I’d end up equally ok with Johansen but I don’t know anything about him.)
-
“Mike Fisher is our trade deadline acquisition.” -David Poile doing his best Holland impression, probably
-
Just watched that Tatar shootout goal; toooo dirty, gotta go clean my screen off now..
-
Right?! No way any GM in their right mind would give him that. Unless they know something about the salary cap that we don’t hah

Alexander Radulov: Wings on short-list of desired teams
amato replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
And I think he wanted 7 years, then settled for 5.. 7 would’ve been a mistake. I think he’ll slow down toward the end of the contract, but not by much. Dallas definitely has the offensive talent to keep producing. -

I think Tatar still has better days ahead of him. He’s having a rough year, but then again so is a lot of our team. Radulov may be better but I think it’s close. They can both be solid top 6 wingers imo. I was probly one of the ones that didn’t think Radulov would earn his contract.. but yeah, I agree he is so far. Never really doubted him as a player but did think his initial asking price was too high. I think he signed for less than he originally wanted? Usually how negotiations go.. Either way, he’s been good in Dallas so far and I hope he continues to be. I like their team. -

Not to take anything away from Radulov, he's having a great year, but put Tatar with Seguin and Benn and he'd probably double his points too.
