because the only deal he'll probably be able to sign anywhere is low money/short term that said, I am starting to prefer Nielsen to him the more I read about him.. but I am still worried about what contract it'll take to get him.

Whatever, I like helm. And with the high interest in him, he would've gotten more on the open market. Seems like a pretty tradable contract even a few years from now. -

Hmm Nielsen leads the league in the shootout apparently (42 in 82 attempts).. I did not know that. Certainly not a "must sign" type factor but that would be a nice bonus (especially losing Datsyuk) given how we struggle in shootouts.

Free agency officially opens at noon eastern. You can watch coverage on both TSN & NHL network starting at 11am I believe. Should be able to stream it on their websites as well.

Yeah I could live with that. My worry is that he knows how badly we need a center and will use it to his advantage.. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't really know what the guy is like. He does sound like a good fit though and signing him may convince okposo to come here as well.

I think Okposo will go to whoever pays the most for long term.. Which might be us but will probably more than I'd be comfortable with. Same with Eriksson and Nielsen. Thought I read somewhere that NYR were trying to shed salary so a trade for Nash could be at a decent price. Add him with one of the physical forward options maybe?

No clue about Weber but it looks like it wasn't that easy for PK.. Apparently they either weren't interested in Hall or thought he was untouchable? They probably felt they needed some form of D man back in any Subban trade

I figured as much.. I was less taking your suggestion seriously and more trying to state Larssons porential. While I do agree the oilers overpayed (you have to for top d men), I think Larsson is being underrated by most of the hockey world. -

While I agree that the oilers should've gotten more for Hall or given up less for Larsson.... Larsson >>>>> Marchenko. But agreed, I don't think the wings have or would even give up what it would take to get Nuge. Would be great if we could swing it though. But even if we could, assets would be better used to bring in a top D man. -
