Yeah, Mantha is tha man. Really impressed with him lately. One thing is that he's been pulling off some great moves on defenders 1-on-1. Maybe it's just growing confidence, but we haven't seen as much of that from him. Also, he's stepping up his playmaking game - Just look at that set up for Nielsen last night!

Filip Zadina is off to an impressive start. He's 2nd in the QMJHL with 29pts. in 19 games as a 17 year old rookie. And he has more points than any of the top 100 ranked players (obviously different leagues and differing amounts of games played skew the significance of this, but still)

I wouldn't go that far from just my summaries. I just looked at guys around our pick that were talked about often around here. There's also some other doing well like Glass, Tolvanen (25pts in 27 gp KHL) Jokiharju (Dman - don't remember him) 18pt in 17gp (WHL) and probably others.

Casey Mittelstadt: 9 pts (3g) in 9 gp at UofMinni Lias Andersson: 4pts (2G) in 12gp in the SHL Nick Suzuki: 28pts (10g) 16gp in OHL (a.k.a. killing it) Yamamoto: in the Oiler game for what commentators said, he'll probably stay with Edmonton. Cal Foote: 15 pts in 17 gp (1 pt more than Cholowski, but 2 more gp And our dude Rasmussen has 15 pts in 12 games, but seems to be injured (though I couldn't find what it is). He made the WHL team for the Canada Russia Series (along with Cholowski, Glass, Bean, Foote, and some other dudes)

Yeah, a whole lot of unforced errors for Chiarelli. Why they got rid of Hall, Eberle, Schultz, is beyond me. To me, that's a better supporting cast than Lucic, Strome, Larsson. Apparently he also turned down a Subban trade - would have been really interesting to see who it was for.
