Carolina looking for a Veteran D-Man

I actually really like Ian White. And not just when he was with Lidstrom. This season he just seems like a non-factor though. As of right now I would be happy to move him for a 2nd. Hopefully he picks up his game. He has a surprisingly hard shot from the point, I just wish he would learn to use it more.

    Milbury rips Ovechkin

I for one never minded milbury too much. In this instance he's spot on.
  6. I dunno if anyone here is a cop, but a cop told me once that they teach you in the academy to slam on the gas and not the brake if your about to crash into someone else during a high speed chase. The guy/car moving faster tends to always "win"

    Briere On The Block

St. Louis and Boston have already expressed interest in him, but as of right now he apparently refuses to waive his NTC
  8. Didn't Fedorov used to do that all the time? I remember Stevie Y injuring a certain Chrissy Pronger that way too. To me that's the risk you run when you go to run someone. Can't tell someone not to dodge a hit if they can.

A lot of talk that Dallas will be selling him at the trade deadline. Any of you interested?

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

Ya don't say, never knew that

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

Keith exponentially skyrocketed as a player extremely quickly. He never spent more than 2 years in one league besides the NHL. Plus he went from MSU to Kelowna. Kelowna won the championship that year.
  13. Kindl + 2nd round pick for Lebda Kenny: "Lebda's a guy that's been here before and has shown he has chemistry with our other guys. I like where we stand."

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

As a parent I would always send my kid the NCAA route. Even if my kid was Crosby. You just never know how someone will pan out, e.g. Daigle. Much better to have an education to fall back on... plus it's good to have a college education, even if you never need to formally use it.

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

Because an 20 yr old Duncan Keith is better than a 19 yr old Duncan Keith

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

Still disagree. 3rd and 4th line CHLers play way more physical and aggressive than 3rd and 4th line NCAAers. As 3rd and 4th lines are supposed to do. Not every 16 yr old is 5'9" 150 lbs as you guys seem to think. And not every 22 yr old is 6"5" 220 lbs either. Age is a number.

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

18 year old Lemeuix > 22 year old Backes Again, 18 yr old Crosby > 24 year old Parise

    OHL vs. College Hockey Quality?

If you meant that NCAA players are older and thus farther along in physical growth, then yes you are correct, thats a given. But if you meant that they are more physical players, or better because of that growth, that's dead wrong. Many 16 yr old OHLers would out muscle/grind 21 yr old NCAA players. The physicality of OHL games is far above anything in the NCAA

    Babcock

Sorry, but can't think of a coach I'd rather have than Babs. His attitude is perfect for this team. Classy in the street but a hardass in the lockerroom. Blaming this bad stretch on him is ludicrous. He's a great coach dealing with some of the most limited options in the league right now, theres naturally going to be ups and down. Keep calm, and hockey on.

    J.M. Liles potentially available

Sorry I just hate this argument. It's about how you play as a team, not how many superstars you have. Plenty of teams have a Hedman, or Doughty, or Weber, or Phaneuf, or Markov, or Chara, or Ennis, or Yandle, or Pietrangelo, or Letang, and don't win. Look at NJD's defense last year. Mediocre, but played like a tight/elite unit.

Tomas Tatar Is Jiri Hudler 2.0

Congratulations on presenting a new and totally different argument. You said we didn't have a good balance of size, speed, strength, and skill in our prospect pool, I showed the contrary. I don't see how Tatar and Nyquist being in your opinion only 40 point scorers in anyway applies to what I said. And PS ur statement about how we talk up our prospects applies to every franchise. So it balances out. By your standards Granlund blows.... Minnesota *cough* *cough*

    Devils Shopping D

Almost half the teams in the league have scouts at the NJD game tonight (including Detroit). Word is they're shopping D-men. Willing to part with Volchenkov or Tallinder. Want a top forward in return. AKA a Filppula or Franzen.

    Buffalo Fires Ruff

Not surprised. I used to write for the Sabres and I totally called this back in December: http://thehockeywriters.com/has-lindy-lindy-ruff-overstayed-his-welcome-in-buffalo-the-saga-continues-for-now-anyway/?repeat=w3tc
