Holland thinks way more than most GM's. Not sure if you've noticed but Holland DOES NOT TRADE. So an NTC doesn't really matter, it just makes the player feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  5. Ventured over to the Wild's fan site for a moment (the one that mister cougar belongs too) and found this lil snippet he posted in reference to signing ZP and RS...... "Certainly family played a roll" - centcougar07 But I thought you said that was false and we were lying to you cougs????

    The Next Move

No way. If they were to snub us it would be for a team with an actual future like Minnesota. Not really interested in Weber anyway, I'd rather have a guy who knows not to shoot on the breakaway like Kindl...... WRECK SHOP

Filppula - Datsyuk - Franzen Bertuzzi - Zetterberg - Hudler Cleary - Helm - Holmstrom Miller - Abdelkader - Eaves Filppula - Datsyuk - Franzen Bertuzzi - Zetterberg - Brunner ------- Bruns is supposedly grittier n faster than Huds and alot of teams were after him. big ? though Cleary - Helm - Samuelsson ---------- Homer had 24pts in 74gp last year, Sammy had 28pts in 48gp Tootoo - Abdelkader - Eaves ---------Toots had 30pts in 77gp last year, Miller had 25pts in 80gp, and Toots provides snarl/grit So as we stand right now id say the bottom-6 definitely got better The top-6 lost Huds...big whoop...I wouldn't be surprised if Nyquist made the team this year and adequately replaced him if Brunner can't. It's too soon to tell but my guess is the top-6 is pretty much the same caliber wise as it was last year.

Well spoken I don't even think you can expect to sign Doan. There's like a 95% chance he goes back to PHX.
  10. You know this how? I would have called you silly if had you said at the end of the regular season that either the Kings or the Devils were going to go on to win the stanley cup. But then I would have ended up eating my words wouldn't I? You haven't even watched this team play one regular season game yet and you've already written them off. We have no idea how Smith, Kindl, Gus, or Brunner are going to play. What if all 4 completely break out this year????? We could be one of the top teams in the league. And if they don't we could be this "borderline playoff team" your talking about. We will still contend though, and even if we are an 8 seed we could still pull an L.A. Kings in the play-offs, you simply never know.

Not banking on Brunner at all, he could be a total bust. But Ken and Babs seem to think he's top-6 capable so I put him in contention. Say your right, our 2nd line is weaker than it should be....Well our 3rd line is also a lot stronger than it usually is. That kind of depth is ok with me. We can't trade away those mid 30's guys though and trading away Fil for Nash or Ryan aint gonna fix anything age wise.

...... Do you need a dictionary? I'm a little worried about you. It's really not that confusing or humorous.... We have too many bottom-6 players, not 1 or 2 extra guys, but 4 extra guys. Simple....
  13. COUGAR!!!! I thought u were gone for good after you pretended to be a wings fan on here for like a month and then we all forced you out of the closet lmao Glad to see you didn't read my post either, just like old times I'll break it down again for you so it's easier to understand, ok? My point was: could we dominate and win all kinds of trophies? yes, we COULD. Could we also barely make the playoffs and exit in the first again? yes, we COULD. We simply don't know what Brunner, Nyquist, Smith, or Kindl will play like, there are many possibilities. We also don't know if there are more additions or trades coming so hold your trolling!!!! See the keyword there was COULD. Hope that helps you this time around!!!

We have four legit top-6ers (Dats, Z, Mule, Fil) Then we have 5 other players who will be fighting for the last 2 spots in the top-6 (Sammy, Bert, Cleary, Brunner, Gus), forcing those guys to step up and fight for ice-time is a very good situation for our team. May the best man win. And those who don't earn one of those spots will make up our 3rd scoring line....something we haven't really had recently. Not worried about our forwards at all right now.
  15. blah blah blah border line playoff team blah blah blah first round exit BUT WAIT! Quincey returns to his regular self! Kronners steps it up to fill Lidstroms shoes! Smith lives up to the hype and is the hottest young d-man! Kindl finally showing he was worth the 1st round pick! Howie and Monster are a dominating duo between the pipes! Tootoo puts up another 30 pts on the fourth line! Brunner turns out to be a faster and grittier Hudler! Nyquist makes the team at training camp and solidifies himself as a young gun top-6er! Don't be so dead set on us "sucking"....all of the above are possible and even likely scenarios. Not saying we will win the presidents trophy or the cup next year but it could very well happen, were still one of the best teams around. Or we could be an 8 seed and go out in the first round. Who really knows, it's way to early to tell.

You must mean our 6 D-men, cause other wise I'm calling Bologna. We have a lot of scoring depth now and a lot of guys who will be fighting for top-6 positions. Now take a look at our defense....

    Hockey Prospectus

I've used this website before in the past. Not sure what the guys credentials are but I always tend to agree with his evaluations so he must be at least semi-legit We keep drafting a lot of these boom or bust guys....they could never get big enough, theyre injury problems could stop them from going pro....but if they do put on the weight and the injuries don't hold them back, WHOA were going to have some talented guys on this team. These last couple of drafts have been absolute robbery by the wings. Frk and Jurco in the 2nd round???? Not sure if the wings are amazing at drafting or the other 29 teams are just retarded lol. Jurco and Athanasiou had the best hands in their respective classes and we managed to get both of them, couldn't believe it when it happened.

Bolded: players who are capable of playing in the top-6 Filppula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Franzen-Zetterberg-Brunner Cleary-Helm-Samuelsson Miller-Abdelkader-Tootoo Eaves, Emmerton, Mursak, Andersson, Nyquist That's 9 different players who are capable of and could potentially play in the top-6 next year. We won't be trading for another top-6 forward, i.e. Nash and Ryan are not going to be Red Wings. It would be a waste of assets to trade, especially with Semin and Doan still on the market. The next move is obvious: sign Semin or Doan and then trade away 3-4 bottom-6 forwards, or don't sign them and still trade away about 3 bottom-6 forwards. Either or the bottom 6 dump is coming. Hopefully the trade will net another D-man. Edit: Can't understand why everyone is discussing trading for Nash or Ryan while we have more than enough in the forward department and a GAPING hole in our defense still. Bizarre-O world?
  21. CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY WHISTLE!!! TOOOOOOOTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  22. Yeah I'd like every one of our players for 600,000 less than what they're at.......... I love how you always work in one of the guys you have a hard on for into every thread lol

    A case for rebuilding

Kronwall - White Ericsson - Quincey Smith - Kindl ^ not too upset by this....Smith and Kindl need to be given their chance. Everyone says Smith is so good and so ready so hell this may as well be his year with our D torn apart. And Kindl hasnt shown much but he also hasn't played that much. I still think he's got somehting in there like E did. Hopefully it's this year. Still say we should dump some bottom 6ers for another D man thou

    A case for rebuilding

No it's not a stretch, and no prospect is a 100% lock, not even Smith or Nyquist....But everything being said about him is that he's big, fast, good defensively, actually uses his size, and will most likely make a great 4th line checker one day. More up side than down. K well Holland said that about Q, not me. But what does he know. I'd post the article for you if I had it, I read it after someone posted it on a thread like a month ago. Q is not at all like E though. He's another White, good on D, good on O, good skater. Not great at anything but a decent two-way defensman, who's not a liability anywhere on the ice. Again, he had a bad 18 games on a new team, not a bad year at all. Of course I can't give you evidence lol, what you want me to see the future? You seem to have a pretty low hopes for the team next year, I on the other hand trust Holland. He knows better than any of us and he hasn't let me down yet. For all I know Brunner's going to put up 30 goals and 50+ points, Smith is going to put up 30 points, and Sammy is going to add another 15 goals and 30 points....I don't know though, but I'm going to trust Holland and be optimistic about. Oh and no, not only do I personally think it would be dumb to overpay for Yandle, but I don't believe Holland would ever do that either. Were not going to sell Bert or Cleary though either....Holland loves Cleary and Bert doesn't have enough trade value to make selling him worth while. Were probablly going to dump depth forwards with value like Eaves, Miller, Abby, Mursak, Emmerton, for a depth d-man. that may mean he wants go play in the KHL when he's like 40 though LAK was a #8 seed and NJD was a #6 seed...making the playoffs is making the playoffs...which we will do...we still have all the assets that make us a cup contending team.
