Congrats Flashy! Definitely a well deserved win
-
At least you know he'd keep his stick on the ice.

What about Ducky from Pretty in Pink?
-
This isn't the prospect tournament going on, it's a rookie camp. Mantha and Bertuzzi played a lot more games in through the memorial cup playoffs than the other guys, and Mantha was put out for 90 second to 2 minute shifts regularly. I think some of it is residual fatigue from that.

Sorry I don't have an account, otherwise I'd spam vote as much as I could to help you. You are extremely talented and creative with your GDT's and deserve the win.

Great signing at a great price. I thought he'd get around $1.5 mil. That's a bit more cap to play with. I'm in a Starbucks on the road, so keep the posts coming. I'll be offline for about two hours once I'm back on the road.

That's interesting. I could see him holding out for arbitration to get to UFA. He'd be a nice pickup. Ultimately, though, I think the BJ's will give him what he wants, as he could be a cornerstone for them.
-
His personality seems to be more of the play second pairing, QB the PP rather than be the #1 all the time. Kronner and Smith together last year worked well, IMHO. Pair Niskanen with Danny DeKeyser and have him run the PP with Kronwall and I think it's a situation that fits his mind and skillsets. Ericsson with Marchenko or Sproul or Oulette for the third pair, Lashoff as a cheap 7th.
-
I think right now he's worth about $5.5, but if the cap continues to rise, even at $6.75-7.25 million, if he produces, he'll be overpaid early in the term but a bargain by the end, in some ways like the Kronwall and/or Ericsson contracts.

What if KH offers 7 years, $6.75 mil, limited NTC to open? I think he'd consider it
-
That would be interesting... got a link?

Weiss and Alfie were good signings. Cleary was a fustercluck, but I can understand why due to his playoffs the year before, even if I disliked it. The Bert, Sammy, and Tootoo signings were from the year before and aren't considered in my eval of last seasons FA period. If Cleary played like he did in the playoff run, Weiss was healthy and put up 50-60 points, and Alfie's back didn't flare up we'd all likely be singing his praises. Up front, it was a decent effort. Not a fan of St. James at all. I'm hoping the front office is using her as a smokescreen to disguise their real intentions. Either that, or she's being her usual hack self.

That's odd, I'd agree. Hope you have a good day anyway.

I think Dabura is hitting it on the head. KH did well in the last offseason but it was derailed due to injury, and he is still smarting from Suter. I think he wants to make a splash again. Will it make a difference in retaining Babs if he does? Will it rejuvenate Pavs and Z?
-
Nice. Switch the orange and gold stripes and it would be even better. I seem to recall hearing that the black and gold was a nod to the Army base near Anaheim. Anyone else hear anything about that?
-
Nev is hitting it on the head, imho. I liked what I saw of Oulette last season, and didn't remember much of Marchenko prior to his injury since I don't get to see much of the Griffins here in PA. If Marchenko is at least equal to Oulette, I'd be cool with givIng him a shot. That's realistically as close as the Wings are likely to get to the 3 righty and 3 lefty combo Babs has spoken of in the past. That's one way of putting it. .
-
I think Niskanen should be the higher priority, and agree with your pairings. Ehrhoff would be an acceptable fallback. Keeping Smith with Kronwall will help him. DeKeyser just seems like a great fit to pair with Niskanen. Ericsson would be a good mentor on the third pair with a young guy like Oulette or Sproul. Lashoff I'm OK with as a number 7 for now as the other young D we have up and coming would benefit more with top pairing minutes in GR rather than riding the pine.

I mostly lurk in the offseason, but I do enjoy hearing what you have to share. Don't let others get you down. BoS said it well. I understand you can't divulge your source, so I'm not going to take a shot at you and instead be grateful to hear it during a slow summer. You are nowhere near the same camp as Eklund or hockeyinsiderr in terms of throwing mass quantities of BS, so I don't get the hostility from some. You have more than proved your worth as a contributor to this board.

Nice to see Pav playing an instrument. If he switches to electric, I'd be happy to give free lessons.
-
Or Steve Carrell. I'm torn for this one, as others have said. I guess I'll pull for NY so Lundqvist gets a cup and to keep LA from pushing the dynasty. I do think LA is more likely to win, though.

It bogs down the machine too much.

I just rebooted the laptop and reset the router and upped the windows to 10. Hopefully that helps.

Glad to see others are helping out to defeat the Oshie bots. My wife was giving me some grief about it until she remembered how douchey the Blues fans are that she has met. My laptop is still going, and I'll be able to get a couple extra PCs up at work Monday AM.
-
I've had 7 windows going since Sat AM at home, rebooting the PC due to some Windows updates, then resetting my router. I had seceral windows up on my work PC on Friday, but they reset the server late Friday evening.

Good points. Like the Rob Brown on Mario's wing effect? (or to a lesser but maybe more apropos extent, Gallant on Yzerman's wing?)
