I'm not obese by any means, but that is actually pretty awesome (but then, my love of bacon has become almost legendary with my students - for our post winter concert party, they started bringing in a chocolate fountain and dipping precooked bacon in it (they came up with it on their own) as well as always giving me bacon as a gag gift)). I'd actually consider doing that to save money, though when I go to a game I usually go with friends or my wife and have a nice meal at a nice restaurant before the game.

Average saves by Jimmy there. Even with the guy in his crease he still makes the save. The rangers are bringing it, he is standing tall. How are the faceoff percentages for our guys so far? It almost makes you nostalgic for Holmstrom getting called for farting into the crease. At least then we usually had multiple goal leads.

I have a good feeling about tonight's game. Last night the wife and I tried a new BBQ place (to us) up in Binghamton and the bartender comped me a glass of Douglas by Macallan (I was shocked since it was my first time in the place). That's got to be an omen of good things for the Wings. Wings win 5-2. Zetterberg, Tatar, Datsyuk, Franzen, DeKeyser. Let's Go Wings!

I don't think it's necessarily that Quincey sucks or Smith sucks, more that they just don't mix as a pairing so it brings out the worst in them since neither is comfortable with the other. I couldn't tell you why that is, but it seems that way to me. Last night they were paired with different partners and both looked much better, imho.

Niemi got lucky with the pad on Bert there. Tough to lose in the shootout, but considering that our top d pair was out I'm happy with the point. Dan DeKeyser and Xavier Ouellet both had great games and the blue line future looks great. Tatar had a good game as well. What were the final faceoff stats? It seems that there have been quite a few games where the faceoff stats have been decisively skewed against the Wings, which just doesn't bode well for a puck possession team in terms of creating offense. Niemi is a frustrating goalie in that he makes the safe play just about all of the time. He is beatable, but you need to have traffic in front and/or get him moving laterally. If he sees it, he's going to stop it and get a whistle. SJ is a good faceoff team, so that sets them up since they are very confident with taking draws. The Wings' numbers on the season plays right into that strategy.

I think that he is trying to keep a spot in the lineup.

Nice move by Tatar to pull a Pavs and knock the incoming checker on his butt, and he follows it with a good chance.

As do I. It would be even sweeter if it's a GWG.
