Sammy scores off a nice feed from Emmerton, then shortly after Pav announces himself to the east. Wings did a great job killing a long 5 on 3, killed their own PP. Overall, a pretty good first pd.

Nice keep in by Weiss but to no avail. First PP of the year killed. That first unit is gonna be sick. The second needs some work, imho.

Sammy from Emdog... Nice. Pavs adding to the tally. Looks like Emdog doesn't want to face waivers again. Honestly, if Sammy can play well, people might back off. This is a year where he is playing for the rest of his career. He needs to show he can last a season and contribute after his injury run last season, so he may have a fire nobody, myself included, expected. Hopefully the boys keep the pedal to the metal. Convert the PP!

Agreed. The boys are buzzing, it's like they weren't even fazed by the PK and they want to ring up a victory for Drew over his brother.

Great chance as the PK expired. Kudos to tge PKers, and looks like the arena DJ needs to get Van Halen's "Top Jimmy" in the rotation for the saves ASAP.

Now a 5 on 3. Time for the PK to step up in a big way. A shortie would be a nice FU to the refs and a great opening salvo for the Eastern Conference.

Of the guys "on the bubble" I'd assume Emmerton is most likely to clear. Also, wasn't there a rule in the old CBA (not sure if it is in the new one) that if a player is picked up on reentry waivers that the old team was still responsible for half the salary cap hit wise? If that's still in place, I could see that as another reason for him to be on waivers.

It makes sense, but it would be very subjective, and not every hit from the "big guns" is like a freight train. I could see the scorers keeping track of the stat being huge homers and not crediting the away team fairly.

Seems to me someone is saying Kronners is as dirty as Torres and Cooke. I'd have to disagree with that assessment.

Fair enough. Can I say he puts the "ass" in assassin? That power play was poor. Andy and Nyquist seem to be a bit more confident with their puckhandling though, imho.
