There we go. Lidstrom delivers. Heck of a setup by Zetterberg. I'm surprised the ref saw it it was so quick.

Saw that coming when they all swarmed to one side.

And a penalty against the Wings for high sticking. We don't want Helm in the box. Far too many of those in this series.

WCSF Game 3 GDT: Sharks 4 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

Just got back from directing my church choir rehearsal. I see we've still got a scoreless game and the FSD feed just said shots were even. How have the Wings been looking so far ? Nice hit Kronner! Sit down Heatley. Btw, somehow it's not on Vs or NHL network and they actually have the FSD feed on center ice on my cable. Hopefully that's a good omen.

WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

Konnan, great parody whine about the GDT. Certain troll like doomsayers need to drink a quarter keg of STFU. I won't be able to watch the game since I have to play keys for the final performance of Phantom of the Opera this afternoon at a neighboring school, but I think the Wings come out and make a statement today. If Jimmy plays as solid as he did in game 1 the rest of the way and offense actually gets a decent amount of shots on Niemi from here on out then the Wings will be just fine.

WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)

Just got home from playing keys for a production of Phantom of the Opera in time to see that Lidstrom goal. I had to wear all black in the pit so I wore my Wings golf shirt and threw on the Zetterberg Winter Classic jersey as soon as we finished playing.

    Greetings from LetsGoSharks.com

Classy move Mike! I've gotta give props where they're due. I look forward to some good interaction with other Sharks fans if they have the same level of class (I will say Grypho is doing a good job representing with class as well). I'm also looking forward to the Photoshop wars. You set an example that other fan bases can look to as a good example. Way to really get to the core of the matter early! Regarding the parallel drawn between Yzerman and Thornton, Thornton has a LONG way to go to be an accurate comparison to Stevie Y. Stevie didn't get the accolades until he actually won the Cup. The story of people walking away from him at a table in Vegas saying "there's no luck at this table" is on I remember (if I recall correctly it was recounted in the Steve Yzerman: Heart of a Champion book circa 1996). I'll agree that Thornton had a great series in the first round against LA. However, like Yzerman, he's not going to get the accolades from other fan bases until he actually hoists the cup. Until he does he's going to be marked by his previous catalog of "chokes" by non Sharks fans, and it's not an inaccurate portrait they paint, IMHO.

    Congratulations to the Phoenix Coyotes

I may have come across a bit harshly in the other thread with my Custer Trophy comment regarding Doan, but when you consider the chaotic off-ice situation the Coyotes had to deal with the past two seasons, you can't help but give them a lot of credit for two solid seasons that led to a playoff berth. Now that the series is over, I can easily give props where they're deserved. If they end up relocating, I hope the fans still follow the team, but also that the folks who may be losing jobs can recover quickly. I hope the situation can still be worked out, but I have no control over it. The only Yote I genuinely dislike is Jovo. Doan is a bit of a reckless ****** on the ice, but I do respect how he gives it all every night.

While I agree he leaves it all on the ice, and gives his all every game, I don't feel that he merited such effusive praise from the broadcasters right after being swept. Yes, I wouldn't mind having him on my team if I'm a GM but I'm not a huge fan of the douchebaggery he displays at times on the ice. Sure his team was limited, though I'd add Turris and maybe Boedker to your list, but after years of seeing Yzerman being ripped by broadcasters for the lack of playoff success pre 1997, I'm gonna have that filter. Yzerman totally revamped his play for the good of the team with great success. I'd also consider Lidstrom a better leader than Doan by a significant margin. Maybe I came across too harshly with my George Custer Memorial Trophy comment, but the Wings just swept the Coyotes and it seemed to my tired brain at 1:00 am that they were slighting the only team to pull off the sweep.

I thought the same the first time I heard him on a broadcast commenting about the Wings.

Shane Doan getting major kudos for his heroic leadership. How many first round playoff exits has he led his team to? Or is it the George Custer Memorial Trophy the versus announcers were referring to?

Eaves with the empty net. Just adds to the multiple layers of irony that the Yotes DJ had just played Living on a Prayer.

Maybe the better question is who's due next? Think Howard would take a shot at the empty net if he had the chance?

The Todd with the insurance goal. He can't do it all on his own, he's no superman, but he may have scrubbed the yotes logo off their jerseys to expose the vintage Jets logo behind it.

Dang, would have been fitting for Helm to own Jovo for the insurance goal.

Gotta give credit to Yandle for catching Helm there. Wings are starting to smell the blood in the water, I think.

PP didn't cash in, but the pressure was pretty good. Bad luck with the post. If they can keep sustained pressure like this, Bryz will fold eventually.

PP - get another one, yes I'm greedy, but it'd be the perfect thank you to Howard for that beauty of a glove save.
