Just finished the DVR of this game since I had a gig playing bass in the pit for a local production of Cinderella, and I'm thrilled to see the Wings kicked as much butt as I did in the pit. Mrazek is showing serious beast potential, and it was awesome to see Miller pop one. Here's kudos for Petr Mrazek's 2nd career playoff shutout, and to hoping the boys seal the deal at home in just as decisive a way.

Missed the game due to a pit rehearsal (no wifi or cell coverage) then grabbing a late dinner with my wife, got home in time for the empty netter. Congrats to Petr Mrazek for his first NHL playoff shutout, and to the boys for the win for a series lead. Keep it going in game four!

Did I read early in the game that Killorn slew footed Datsyuk? If that's the case, somebody should have f***ed him up to the point that by comparison, Jack Bauer runs a day spa for terrorists.

Great GDT graphic as always, thanks for your high quality work, Mike! If Petr stands tall early and our boys draw first blood, things could get very interesting. We all know what they need to improve from game one, and I have this feeling that Hank is due for a game in beast mode. Sadly, I'm stuck at a rehearsal from 12-4 today, and it's a 35 minute drive home, so I should be able to catch the third, but I will be depending on all of you for the recaps for the first two. As much as I'd laugh at the hiring of Torts in Philly, I have to hope against it for my dad's sake. He's already got an LVAD, he doesn't need the aggravation. (Hey, we live in Eastern PA, cut him a break. As was said previously, it's great to have our goalie steal one. Big ups to Petr Mrazek for his first NHL playoff win. I haven't watched the DVR yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Keep it rolling. Getting Abby back for game 2 would be a nice plus. If we can draw first blood early in game 2 and Petr is strong early, could the team be getting in Tampa Bay's head? Nice of the D to be stepping up in a better way. How did Marchenko look? Does it seem like he will stay in for game 2?

Nice, but photoshopping him over Tony Stark doing the arms demo in the first Iron Man movie would be pretty cool as well - maybe after they get fleeced in some trades.

Glad I didn't disappoint. As far as the beer bit, mass produced American "beers" like Busch, Budweiser, Coors, etc. are not fit for consumption by anyone with anything remotely resembling a functional taste palate. There are so many great options out there these days. Big ups to Zeno's in State College, PA for the 25 taps and over 200 bottled beers they carried during my undergrad days in the early 90's. They also put the Wings on for me when espn2 carried them. Then again, doing 3 of their "around the world in 80 beers" passports probably gives you some kind of VIP status.

+1 for the Spinal Tap reference. As long as the Wings have the rock knob cranked to 11, and the suck knob all the way down and not vice versa, I can see the upset happening. Also kudos for the earlier Ric Flair reference.
