Over time, I'd tend to agree. However, I've said numerous times that BOTH teams and their fan bases deserve a game that is fairly, consistently, and COMPETENTLY officiated. In far too many cases, that hasn't happened. I don't want my team to win or lose on a ticky-tack or, even worse, blown call.

Wow. Dirty as hell, IMHO. That should get a suspension, but I have little confidence in the NHL dept. of player safety (hell, Pronger will probably give style points. Hopefully Smith is O.K. with no concussion symptoms or other damage. Payback next season in spades, I hope, but pulling out the win was a good start. Hopefully McClellan tears him a new one.

I'm at region chorus and was helping with the room checks (my kids kicked ass, btw but can't say anything more specific than that until after lunch tomorrow when rankings are announced). What is the short recap?

Benn should be facing a suspension, but since it was against a Red Wing, and Pronger is now employed by the department of player safety, I'm expecting to be disappointed. Still hoping Hank is OK. It would be only too fitting if next season, Benn went to hit Zetterberg and Hank went low like Stevie Y did on Pronger back in the day. -

I know the center match ups are not pretty, but Pavel is capable of putting on his backpack and carrying the team. Heck, he did it in he third and OT. If the rest of the team responds, look out. Still, let's keep hoping. Hank is fine until we hear otherwise. -

I'm hoping Z is fine, and if he is, some rest won't hurt. If it is a concussion, there will be the chance to pay Benn back next season with a clean hit or twelve as I don't believe they face Dallas again this year. -
Great comeback win. I just watched the highlights of the third and OT. My cable started acting up and took my net with it so I ended up watching a movie with my wife. Hopefully Zetterberg is OK. Kindl scoring two was a nice surprise, and I believe Marchenko's helper was his first NHL point.

Wow, that was a really Maple Leafy sequence. Howard was screened pretty well, but you can't let Daley skate in unhindered like that.

I'm hoping Kindl plays well and racks up a couple of assists. Pairing him with DeKeyser makes sense since it is a bit of a safety valve to allow him to move the puck. Smith/Marchenko is going to gel into a good tandem, IMHO.

Looking forward to this one. Ring up two points with a scoring outburst coupled with 60 minutes of intense, focused play by the Wings. Hank, Goose, Tatar, Smith, Marchenko.
