Some decent pressure there. Get it back and bury one or two or twelve. -

Agreed. I've seen the boys carry the play all night then have one lapse or bad call in the third cost them far too many times over the years. Time to come out hard and torch Price's GAA in a big way in the third. -

And there it is. I'd have laughed if Sheahan' fired it into the empty net, though it likely would have started a brawl. Still, it was a pretty blatant hook, ya gotta call that one. Great stop by Howard. Don't let Gallagher bump him, level him if he gets close to Jimmy. Damn, nice try Glenny. A shorty would have been pretty sweet. Gotta give Pacioretty some credit for a nice back heck, though. -

He certainly has an.... Interesting and distinguished resume of reffing (screwing) the Wings, doesn't he? Still, no PP for the Habs... Yet. -
Interesting stat posted during the Wings game - Pulkkinen is the first Griffin to have back to back 30 goal seasons.

Great goalie, but his diving and cheapness gets old quickly. -

Did Price trip the wing in front of the crease as play went the other way? -

Quincey and Gallagher to the box. At least they sent the diver off with Q, even if they didn't call it embellishment. -

That was a bogus offsides there. Hopefully Gilbert gets Kronwalled for shoving Pavs offsides. -
I thought it was a reference to Lidstrom being godlike on defense, and the umlaut was because he was so awesome that he was f'n metal. \m/

Somebody should have pulled the Probert cannonball on Price after that dive robbed Pavel. -
Since technically anything you click while browsing LGW or any other site is a link, yes. TPBM has had to deal with flooding and has advice to share. (The heatalator in the band room at work blew a pipe last weekend and there was an inch and a half of water on the floor when Ingot there Sunday afternoon. Fortunately it didn't get to the instrument room and the drum carpet in my music tech lab absorbed what came under the door. My choir room was unscathed. They still haven't ripped up the carpet, but have been trying to dry it out. It reeks of mold). I'm just thankful that one of the jr high kids that was there for archery last Sunday forgot her flute and had an admin open the band room for her or it would have been continuing to flood overnight and possibly into Tuesday since we were closed on Monday. We are off again today due to extreme wind chill (close to -30). I'm hoping the carpet is gone tomorrow when we go back.

How old was Fischer when he had his heart issue? Great point, 55 fan.

Fedorov deserves it, especially now that the relationship with the brass is smoothed over, although it may not be until Mike Ilitch passes. When it was crunch time, FedEx delivered. Comparing the eras is tough. I think if Pav and Z get one more cup they will get it, otherwise it is going to be iffy. As has been said, they are doing a pretty darn good job of leading the Wings through what could have been a nightmarish transition period.

The first would have been too high, let alone sending Pulkamania to run wild in Toronto. Then again, they'd probably sign him to a Kessel-like contract after he unleashes the Holy Slapper for an NHL goal in this home rink.

The Jets as a whole played with a lot of.... "Enthusiasm" on the ice. They're my pick for a first round upset in the West if they get in.
-
Bit of a surprise but I agree the price was too steep for what he'd bring to the Wings, and I concur it would have been even steeper for the Wings. He's a good fit for the Preda, though. Looks like they're planning to make a serious run in the postseason. Overall, the Leafs got fleeced, though. If that continues, after their fire sale, it could be really ugly for the white and blue.

That's probably the best way to do it due to both the huge differences between eras and the vast number of great players the Wings have been fortunate to have on their roster. I mean, how many other teams would have the alumni for two games at a Winter Classic that were actually higher end when they played?

Can I put the wheels on the bandwagon?
-
I had to throw Bobblin' Bob IT'SINTHERE between the pipes. I should have had Meech and Lebda in there as well, but I was thinking truculence and trying to go vary the eras a little bit since I started watching the Wings in the 80's. I considered Tim Cheveldae, but I couldn't bump Bobblin' Bob from the starter spot. No way Tim plays backup. It has to be Cheveldae, everyday or not at all. .

Of course the Canadiens win their shootout.

Weiss whiffs it, hard to blame Jimmy for the shoutout loss. That was his best shootout performance this year if I recall correctly.
