Regarding Pierre, he knows his stuff, and I enjoy his insight most of the time, but I don't really care where the 4th line jobber on the team was born or played juniors. That said, Edzo is the one who makes broadcasts intolerable. If he isn't there, Pierre and Doc do a good job overall. It's almost like they're the nerds trying to ride the "cool kid's" coattails (though there is nothing cool about Edzo). Pierre is a walking encyclopedia of hockey knowledge, and I bet he'd be a blast to have a beer or two with while watching a game.

Maybe they have the Wings championships dvd set.

Glad to hear X-O Manowar is chipping in on the offense. Hopefully they run it up on the leafs. As far as the leafs fans on hf boards, they are so chronically butthurt they might as well have pigged out at Taco Bell while suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.

While I would gain much mirth should that happen, I think the team is too classy to do that. Still, it would be hysterical.

A friend came over to watch the game, so I wasn't posting, but what a great effort to steal the win after being down two. Great game by Tatar and Abdelkader. I was worried Mickey jinxed the boys by mentioning Mrazek having two shutout wins early. Scarily, they popped four plus had several posts. If they come out for the opening horn against the Make Beliefs, it could get ugly on the scoreboard for the TO boys. Great night in the faceoff circle - especially Helm.

Time to light them up. Looking forward to seeing Mrazek and X-O Manowar.

Wishes for a full recovery to Dupuis, but puck Fittsburgh. As said earlier, clots are not to be trifled with or taken lightly.

That is ironic. Pronger was a grade-A Prime ******, and dirty as heck, but he was a damned good defenseman. He'll get in on the first ballot, and deservedly so as far as his play as a d-man, but Lidstrom will still overshadow him like you said, GMR. As far as class, on the ice Pronger had none, and the injury when Yzerman ducked his hit was deserved, imho. Lidstrom, on the other hand, epitomized class on and off the ice. His nickname of "The Perfect Human" was well deserved based on everything I'd seen and read. (Different meaning of class, but I had to go there, sorry). The HHOF has a character element I think, but it is minor compared to the on-ice achievements in the evaluation process. Lindros may have some trouble due to his bucking the draft and refusing to play for the Nordiques and his adversarial relationship with Philly (or, as I seem to recall, his parents' adversarial relationship with Philly). I think a lot of the "old school" voters were rubbed the wrong way by that. I do think he should get in eventually. I think Fedorov should get in, based on his on-ice stats and awards. When he was on, he was an absolute beast on the ice. Lidstrom was just a phenomenal player, in so many ways. I think he saw the game even better than Gretzky and that's why he was so positionally sound. If it is those four players in next year's class, it could be hailed as one of the best ever, but those class comparisons could be an entirely new thread.

Maybe it was a "blink"ed tweet between Andersson and Smith.
