Up front I think we can hang with anyone but our D on some nights is so bad. E played one of the worst games I've ever seen a d man play tonight. They were all clunky tonight but good enough to win I guess.

100% agree, part of being a great player is the ability to last a long time, stay out of situations where you don't get injured and just have all around good health. Lids is a prime example of this also.

We have one circus clown every night on D, tonight was Big E's turn.

This is the problem without being able to score, completely outplayed these guys for 40 minutes and we make one mistake and now its a game. I did this no scoring speech the other night and we sniped 3 goals in 7 minutes. Hope it works again lol

If you told me at that start of the year we would be solid in goal and on d and not be able to score I would've laughed but this is just silly...Put the puck in the net. 1 goal a game is never gonna be good enough. Helm needs to score, I know he does other stuff and is valuable but he's not exempt from scoring some goals. He's had 5 chances tonight.

We need a legit right handed shot, teams just over play us because we have 5 lefties on the ice all the time, its not rocket science. That being said options are limited, Alfie or a trade. Another great effort tonight, game should have never got to OT. This team is fun to watch. Jimmy looks solid, playing his angles so much better this year.

- Good thing Reimer isn't in net, it would be 7-0, Bernier has been very good - I'm not sure we will get out worked many times this year, these kids work their asses off and it clearly rubs off on the vets - We need a right handed shot, don't know if it's Alfie or not but we need one, especially on the PP - Glendenning could score 15 goals a year in this league if he gets some polish, he's always in the right spot - I love how we are one and done in our own end, no 1 minutes shifts hemmed in our own end like last year

Sucks to not get full value out of that game. Boys are working hard and the difference defensively is a big surprise so far. Call should have been made garbage reffing but we need to pot some goals and win this game.

Why would we have better off with Hossa? Is it because of your blinded man love for him or brutal hatred for Franzen? In the 5 seasons since Hossa went to Chicago he has scored 125 goals in 315 games , .39 goals/ game average @ 5.275 million a year. In the same amount of time Franzen has 97 goals in 275 games, .35 goals per game average @ 3.9 million per year. 1.8 million per year difference for .04 more goals per game. If I'm doing the math correctly it seems that on cold hard facts alone we are actually getting a bargain with the Mule over Hossa. With that being said I hope we can trade Franzen, I still think the Canucks are a good trade partner for us. They can stick Franzen with the Sedin sisters and I would be glad to see some kind of deal that involved Kesler coming back this way.

I totally agree, as much as he drives me nuts sometimes, he has 180 goals in 9 seasons, one of those season was a shortened lockout, this season he missed a bunch of games, 09/10 he played 27 games which makes his 20 goal average somewhere in the 25-30 goal range. Find guys who have scored 20-30 goals this year and you will realize like him or not his contract is pretty much gold in the salary cap era. 180 goals / 567 games = .31 goals per game x 82 = makes him a 26 goal scorer a year with a very very manageable contract.
