I should loosen up a little bit? Why, was I the one ripping on anyone in this forum? Or was someone else doing that to another person? Yeah...
-
I'm not ripping on huds (individual player(s)) because the team is in a slump. Every team has slumps. I just don't like the effort hudler, specifically, puts in night in and out. He is a good hockey player but in the minor leagues where smaller players that don't make it to the NHL shine.
-
I'm not racist. Some of my best friends are asian. But not many asians play hockey. It was a non-racist joke my friend. Lets loosen up a little bit. The world doesn't revolve around you and hudler.
-
I love it when I get negative ratings! GO WINGS!
-
Hudler sucks. He is way to weak on the boards. He is small in size. He looks azn. This thread is hurting my eyes because I see Hudler talked about too much. Oh and if you want to f**k Hudler just say so, but yea, don't try to justify it by saying he can play hockey. K bye

You know what? I read these forums more than I post anything on here. I see how much pride most of you have in OUR team. Yes, I love the Detroit Red Wings for life, no matter what, where I move, how retarded I get, or how bad they get one day. The problem here is why is everyone hating on peoples opinions? The Red Wings are 5-5-1 right now. The season is still young. Although I do not disagree that some trades have to be made. Some big trades have to be made (yes we do need a f**king sniper) notice when we won the cup in the mid to late 90's we had shanahan even yzerman and in 2002 we had Hull. Yes, 2008, omg everyone is going to bash me there. The team was in its juicy prime (with zetterberg being pretty much our goal scorer) and everyone was playing amazing hockey. I really hate big time hard core fans saying bad things about the team when they are not a bad team. I also hate when everyone bashes them (fans who think something is wrong with the team) when they say we are not going to win the stanley cup and the team needs a trade. Does this mean I agree with them? Yes, it does. Does it mean I don't think the current team we have CANT win the cup, NO. Does it mean that I think its more unlikely to win the cup with the current team we have, YES. The team we have is very elite. I agree with all of you fans that something needs to be changed on this team. No reason to think you are all incorrect. I think we need to bring in a player who shoots more than passes. Get rid of hudler, first of all. Keep fil he inst a bad 2 way player. I don't know what to say about cleary because he is on and off and injured a lot, so NO COMMENT. I wouldn't mind trading Franzen if we got a player/sniper just as good as him back. I really do agree with people when they say he plays like he is 5'9. Bertuzzi I wouldn't mind getting traded either if we get some size, youth, and energy back in a weaker top 6 foward. I think our 3rd and 4th lines could use a couple tweaks with trades or different players from the minors brought up. I personally wouldn't mind getting rid of eaves or miller and bringing more physical players that can skate with the puck better. I will say however, I would not trade zetterberg or dats because they are the core of this team. They are two of the top elite players in the league and they will eventually get going. Maybe they just arent mentally focused yet? So does this mean I am going to get bashed, even though I am a hard core, die hard, loveable fan of the red wings for saying we need trades and our team is more unlikely to win the stanley cup? Or are some of you going to say omg he isnt a red wings fan he is from another teams forum?
-
I don't hate hudler but I don't think he fits Detroit's needs right now. As far as filppula I would not trade him even if he never cracks 40 points. He is an all around player who does pp, pk, plays on different lines, stick handles well, and at times is aggressive. Fil is a hell of a lot better player than Hudler. I would trade cleary, miller, bert, eaves, and even franzen over filppula anyday. You don't trade a player who can play all the different roles. I don't get why people want to use him for trade bait. Note* I never said fil is a better player than frazen to those who will assume that is why I would trade franzen.

Strictly all and only offensively built teams don't win champions. You have to be a balanced team in many areas. Detroit is lacking a complete third and fourth line right now. I don't care who disagrees with me. The third liners should be more physical, defensive, and aggressive with some goal scoring being a secondary request. Hudler is not a third line player. He should be on a second line on a DIFFERENT team. He could fit in very nicely on teams that have big, physical, role type of players to give that extra offensive ability on teams who are lacking it. I agree many of u say we need a top 6 foward but we need a top 4, shanahan (or what mule use to play like; aggresive and sniper like), type of player on one of the top 2 lines who can also skate with zetterberg and datsyuk. That would help conserve dats and zetts energy from trying to do it all and make our top 2 lines a bigger threat. Sorry I got carried away from Hudler for a second. But my point is that Hudler is a decent offensive player, that's right ONLY offensive, but just doesn't fit the needs of the Red Wings right now. We need different types of players that fit the roles of the third and fourth line.

Hey, everyone is talking about the wings being better than san jose (which is true). The only reason we lost both years is because we got injured (which is true). Well why did we get injured MORE than they did both years? Maybe because they are a bigger more physical team. So yes, injury did cost us the series because lack of size and aggression. Wings are about the same in terms of talent but lack in size and aggression. We need to make a couple changes to get meaner and bigger. Oh, i def think the 3rd and 4th line, especially, need to be tweaked. Miller, abbie, and prolly a minor this year will make up the 4th. I think we need a big and physical veteran on that 4th to replace miller. I guess the 3rd line looks OK. GO WINGS!
-
Replace Miller with a big and tough enforcer. Also Replace hood-ler with someone bigger and more physical but can also put up a decent amount of points. Then the team would almost be completely balanced, minus a top 4 defense men.
-
Wings re-sign Miller to 2-year, $1.65m contract

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -
I am excited to see this guy play but I would like to see more bigger and physical defense in Detroit next year. Bring some size in. WE DEF NEED IT.
-
How about we get some right handed shooters
-
I believe if our team plays like they did in game 4, especially towards the last 5 minutes of the period, we can win. If we do not win the series, I hope we can take it to game 7 at least. GO WINGS!!!!

I love the MULE Franzen but he is starting to remind me of Dustin Penner. I HATE long term contracts. I hope Lidstrom plays one last year for 1-2 million and saves us some money for some cap space. TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM LIKE YZERMAN DID. I hope Detroit changes some faces over the summer. (and no I am not saying the series is over) Even if we win I would like to see at least one new face per every line we have. Again... I hope... -
No luck against the sharks. Time to start thinking about adjusting the team, in many ways, over summer break.

We need to win both games at the Joe to make a series out of this. I hope we play like we did the first two home games of this years playoffs. If we can do that then we will come out with two wins and a new series. GO WINGS GO...GO WINGS GO...GO WINGS GO... NIEMMIIIIIIIIIIIIII....NIEMMIIIIIIIIIII...NIEMMIIIIIIIII.... WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

I would, at this point, bring up a couple high energy players(mursak and tatar) from the AHL for game 3. I would change up the lines, actually I would have changed up the lines after the first period in game 2. Babcock is not seeing how bad Detroit is getting outplayed. I love my Detroit Red Wings but I agree with some changes having to be made in the off season. I would like to see some changes made on defense. Specifically bring in BIGGER and more PHYSICAL D-men. I would also like to see some younger faster guys brought up from the AHL or get some trades going to increase our speed, grit, and size up front as well. And to everyone who thinks I am saying Detroit is not superior by saying changes have to be made, then obviously you don't know that anytime you can make changes to benefit a team EVEN MORE does not understand common sense or sports. Everyone talks about Detroit's ultimate goal is to win the stanley cup every year but if you are lacking some players to do that the there is nothing wrong with making changes. GO WINGS! -

Must play PHYSICAL and allow less shots against. GET A LOT MORE THAN 25 SHOTS THIS GAME ALSO PLAY IN SAN JOSE'S OFFENSIVE ZONE MORE THAN IN OUR OWN GO WINGS!!! -

The game was just bad luck for Detroit. I agree about the effing reffing...too big of a ratio. I would like to see a more closer to even ratio but what can you do? By the way I am not complaining about the effing reffing, it is what it is. Detroit is a better team than San Jose but we need to play a lot more in San Jose's offensive zone. We need to pick it up physically. Detroit also has to find a way to reduce the number of shots against because San Jose averaged the most shots per game during the regular season. Go Wings! -

Hmmm... bad calls? Deja Vu? Last Season? No Excuses! -
This is going to be a tough series and is going to have some very bad officiating... Go Wings

I will tell you which team scares me the most. The officiating team scares me the most... San Jose round in 2010...all the penalty shots they have already called in this years playoffs. Bulllllllllllllll-sh**************t....Bullllllllllllll-sh*******t...Bullllllllllllll-sh********t
