You spoke very well to that reply. If Datsyuk gets injured in the playoffs, or a whole season, then what? Are you going to rely on bert, which sorry to say is horrible defensively to be the difference maker? I think zetterbergh is an awesome 2 way player but he is going to get wore down by himself. He can not play EVERY night defensively and offensively without wear and tear. THE SAME goes to pavel, if zetts gets injured he can not do it by himself EVERY night either. I am not say saying Detroit is a bad team because it has been my team since I was in diapers and ALWAYS will be but they are getting old. The game is played with SPEED and talent and it seems as our players are really being out skated the past 2 years (including this season). BTW what is going on with FRANZEN? He has been way to quiet most of this season?!!?

Good game by joey mac. The wings would have been destroyed without him playing an amazing game tonight. Detroit just can not win and are inconsistent. Oh and shi**y refs tonight. The play on holmstrom was a CLEARLY a PS or ATLEAST a PP. By the way, how are we still second in the conference, after all we have been loosing ALOT. lol I think if we didn't have a great start to the season and all those OT loses we would NOT be in the playoffs.

Wings win tonight 4 to 3. Lookout though toronto has a decent team this year. Also we need these points to stay ahead of san jose. Chicago is not far behind us either and we play them 3 times for 6 points. Loosing like we have been lately and loosing to chicago where we get no points out of 3 games could be bad. Detroit seems to have trouble beating chicago this year . We need the division.

After reading all these comments I agree that Detroit's defense has been questionable. Howard is an average goalie like osgood. He is horrible with rebounds and positioning though. I don't care who will argue with me about how osgood has won a whole bunch of cups and so on. Howard can also win the cup with defense like chelios, murphy, and steve duchense on top of nick lidstrom as the core defense. I can't seem to point any fingers other than the defense costing us games. If you look at our fowards they are considered some of the best defensive offensive guys in the league. I mean if we didn't have pavs leading in take aways and hank not doing amazing back checking then how many goals a game would we be allowing more? I can see Howard allows bad goals but look at some of the best goalies out there. They CANT win in the playoffs. I understand you're goalie has to sometimes be you're best player but thats also why there is no "I" in team. Stop pointing fingers at Howard and look at how lazy the defense is and how many mistakes they keep making every night. GOO WINGS !!!

Jimmy Howard is a very streaky goaltender. I don't know how he will play in the playoffs. From last season he had his awesome games where he would make amazing saves with only 1 or 2 goals let in. Some games he was allowing a bunch of goals in, which was ridiculous. I am not blaming this seasons horrible goals against ALL on Howard or Detroit's lazy play/late game awakenings. I also believe our defense isn't very good. I think Detroit's defense is not physical enough at all. Brad Stuart is the only guy who will get in front of a puck, make a big hit, or rough up the opposition. All our other defensive are to offensive, small, or lazy. Detroit in the off season needs to add more depth on defense. Add some younger, big, and physical defense men. Get rid of Jonathan Erricsson. He has play awful this year and last year. I know Lidstrom will probably play if he gets a big enough contract again. I know he is the best defense guy ever but danm... sign him at 1 or 2 million at the most. I also don't know why mickey and Ken keep saying kindle is play so awsome either. He also has played like s***. I don't know what great plays they see from him. ALSO GET A NEW DEFENSIVE COACH. So once again Howard is an average goalie. With better defense he is good enough.
