I wouldn't mind Iginla in a Wings uniform but I think he is starting to get too old. Maybe 3 years ago I would have wanted him. #TooOld

I've said it before and I'll say it again....if Ericsson knew how to use his size, he would be a top ten defensemen in the league. He shows flashes but he played his whole life at forward so he doesn't quite get that part of being a defenseman

All things being equal, I really hope your source is correct. I wish I knew which teams he was most interested in at this point.

Question...if they are going to buy him out are they going to put him through waivers first? I'm not sure of his contract situation and if someone would pick him up before we even got a shot at him?

I can live without picking up a top 6 forward this off season if Holland can make Erhoff and Niskanen happen. You can take a defensive core that's in shambles and completely solidify it in one off season.

The second round will be boring unless we trade back in (thanks Legwand), but hopefully we find the next Dats and Z later in the rounds. Heck I'd even take the next Jonathan Ericsson in the 7th round. Anyone in particular people think we should target later rounds?

Do you guys think Minny has enough to sign Niskanen and Vanek? They have 9 forwards signed, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies. They have roughly 19 mill in cap space so roughly need to sign 5 players or so. Hopefully they only go for Vanek.

I can see 2 years at U of M and 1-2 full seasons in GR putting him in a Wings uniform around age 22. -
Let's trade Mantha, Datsyuk, Z, Kronwall, all of our 2015 draft picks, and a game used Howe Jersey for the 1st pick.

Ottawa is going to end up losing Spezza for little or nothing if they don't lower their asking price. It's going to be the Luongo situation again.

If it's true then great for us. I would pay good money for him to make the team and wear number 96. Would be great to be able to reuse an old jersey lol. -
I know they are going hard after Vanek too. Not sure if they have the Cap for both or not. Niskanen is a Minnesota native which scares me. Apparently they are meeting with him tomorrow because Niskanen is getting married today.

Anyone hear anything new on Niskanen? I know he met with teams like Minnesota. If he goes there I'm going to go postal.

I understand your logic here but the fact is we have two superstar players in Z and Dats that are not far from being gone and it is a travesty that we don't at least attempt to put together a team that can compete for the cup for them. -

Holland realizes that we have great depth in the farm system at defense but the reality is Z and Dats are about 4 years away from being gone and they are stocking up on as many possible replacements as they can...thus not drafting any defenseman.
