Sorry I don't think we even have a chance at getting 1# Dman for any goalie we have, even for Mrazek. Rest of what you say I can agree with. You don't need a elite goalie to win the cup. It's better to have Elite D, than Elite Goalie in my opinion. Average goalie can get hot anytime in the playoffs. But Mrazek not going to get us a #1 Dman. Maybe in the future, but not this season. .

I have no doubt Ott scores on the PP before Sheahan does with equal playtime. Chances are it would be off his butt, but he would get a goal before Sheahan.

Next 8 game will make sure we pick in the Top 10.

I went out today bought myself a Red Wings Centennial Jersey. I also bought one for my Father. I gotta say, I think this jersey is real sharp looking. The Silver band on the arms with the Stanley Cup dates is a super nice touch along with the Silver in the Red Wing Wheel. Oddly, I find myself liking theses more than the 2014 Winter Classic Jersey, which I also have. It's hard to say. Most of theses things people say they would do won't or don't work in the real world. It's not a video game. If we are gonna act like this is a video game here what I'd do. Most of my idea's have to do with free up cap space and getting draft picks. 1. Blashill gotta go, he's lost the locker room and hes is way too much of the same but a weaker version of Babs. You go after Gerard Gallant as soon as possible. 2. You let Z finish his career in Detroit. You only move him, if he wants out. But this is the last season Z is forced to play 19mins a night. 3. You show the same respect to Kronwall as you do to Z. 4. Sheahan gotta go. Take whatever you can get. AA takes his place. 5. Time to move on from Tatar or Nyquist. Svechnikov replaces whoever you move here. 6. Nielsen, Howard, Franzens, Ericsson, DeKeyser, Helm contracts almost make them impossible to move. Chances are you'll have to eat them or buy them out. Theses contracts will make the next 3-5 season very hard to sign any top FA. Realistically, you may only be able to trade DeKeyser and Helm here. 7. I'm not sold on Sproul or Ouellet. If you gotta package one of them in a deal to move someone in #6, #4, #5. Do so. Looking for draft picks here or prospects. 8. It's time for Larkin to play Center full time. Every single "future" top line center at his age is playing Center. Now time for him to do the same. You have Draper train him to win face offs day and night if you've gotta. 9. For the rest of the season, Mantha is tied to the same line as Z. 10. We need the grit. So you keep players like Abbs, Glendening around. 11. In goal I do one of two things. I trade Howard or Mrazek. I'm going after Ilya Samsonov, Juuse Saros or Malcolm Subban, if I trade Mrazek. If I trade Howard, I let the best man win between Mrazek and Coreau. 12. My goal would be to clear cap space and get draft picks, while holding onto Z and Kronwall for fandom and out of respect. No FA gonna come in and save this team. We need to draft and draft well. Along with giving the kids we do keep onto a real chance at real mins on the ice. But the cap space at least helps with the small chance of landing someone like Shattenkirk. This team no matter what is going no where fast anytime soon. Even if Mantha+Larkin turn out to be elite players. That's gonna take time for them to be elite. We are handcuffed by horrible contract after horrible contract until 2020 plus. Fans refuse to understand this or can't. To make matters harder, our top Dman is Dekeyer or Green. With no prospect in sight that may be better than them. Where once, we felt safe at Goalie is now in question. Our future top Center doesn't even play Center on most nights. In my opinion in our Conference alone, I can see 13 teams with a better future than us. That's not adding the Hurricanes who without question have a better prospects of Dman plus Faulk. Our time has come. There is no Z and Datz learning ropes with Hull. Or Kronwall learning from Lidstrom. You don't have a Stevie Y on the 3rd line. Or the number of other all time Red Wing greats to pass the torch like when Z, Datz and Kronwall came in. We've got Z, carrying this team on his broken back, with a bunch of knee jerk contracts.

I paid 180$ at Fanatic U in Taylor MI. In person the Jersey just seemed much better than looking at it online. Like I said, you get to notice some of the sharp little things they did with the Jersey that are hard to see on a screen. In my opinion, try to find one in person. I may just be the oddball out on this. I'm just not a big fan of the old stained looking white.

I don't think we have a single forward that will be become "elite". Mantha and Larkin will be top 6 players. I don't see this elite center in Larkin most people do, hell he doesn't even play center now when the rest of the players around his age that are centers, are playing center. As for Dman, the same can be said about them. Not one of them will be elite and will be lucky if one of them is a solid top 4. When it comes to our goalies, maybe Mrazek will become elite, but at this point I doubt it. With so many bad contracts unitl 2020 plus. He will fall victim to bad team after bad team around him. Regardless I hope I am wrong and will jump for joy if so..

It's all them. Owner is 87 years old. Think about that, 87 years old. I doubt he even has the ability to own-run the team like before. Which means it's falling to the Sons and Family. Clearly only thing they've cared about is keeping the Streak alive. They have more or less handed the keys to the Kingdom to Holland and turned a blind eye while trying to win a World Series for the Tigers the last 8 years. Which has been another fail boat I won't get into. Holland has lost any touch he had when it comes to pulling off a trade or resigning our own player to contact that doesn't hurt us long term. Our team scouting hasn't drafted a D-man worth a damn since Kronwall, which is now going on 17 years. Blashill has lost the team. He is way to much of the same but a weaker version. He's been handed a team that lacks any elite talent and is expected to make the playoffs, which honestly isn't his fault. Our Future "star-elite" center doesn't even play center because he's bad at faceoffs? Every single team that has a future elite center is guess what position they play? Center, trust me none of theses kid can win a face off to save their own mothers life, but you play them at center to develop them right. Even the great McDavid sucks at faceoffs. At least we are getting a new arena right? That tax payers paying nearly 60%. Which the Pistons will play in now, only another 100 million to fit them in. Let's be honest, sure new arena will sell out at first, even with the Wings icing a bad team. But it won't last long. Nothing will change until you see more empty seats in the new arena than full. Red Wing fans will not sell any arena when Red Wings suck or lack any talent worth watching in person. Few fans of any team of any sport do. Canadian Hockey Fans will and New York team fans do, that's about it.

My problem with this team, is I barely care to watch it. I can watch / be a fan of bad teams. I've watched the Lions,Tigers,Pistons for 20+ years after all. But I gotta have a player or two worth my time to watch. No one on the Wings at this time is fun to watch. At least with Datz, even last season, when he was on the ice I felt like I could jump out of my seat at any moment. Just not a single player on this team worth the ticket price if you ask me. That's the main problem for me. Maybe that means I put players before the team. I don't know, but as it is I don't see that changing anytime soon. I've not missed more than two hand fulls of Red Wings hockey well over 10 years. I can say that.

Doesn't Ovi always light Howard up, since like World Jr. I know he lights up a lot of people, but I'm pretty sure Howard is more so than the norm.
