Pretty happy the Wings are bringing back Yzerman. To be honest, Holland has started to win me back over the last 2 seasons. He's done some great drafting, he has his flaws without a doubt and I am sure Yzerman will as well. Anyone have a link to his press conference?

Watching PIT now, is anyone else reminded of the 2010-13ish RedWings? Almost like looking into a mirror in some ways.

Right, I was hoping for one of Byram or Podolzkin if we didn't pick 1 or 2. I guess we still have a chance.

I am pissed that CHI won the 3rd overall pick. Wings picking 6th and falling again sucks as well. Just just bummed out on the season in general. The lottery is the cherry on top the cake.

Where would Zadina rank in this draft?

I just don't see Byram lasting to 6. Here to hoping Podkolzin falls to us. I know a lot of people are scared of him staying in the KHL. But at 6 I would take the chance. The problem we may run into, is too many wingers again.. The only thing that makes this season not feel like a waste at this point is if Yzerman truly comes back.

I guess that can be said for some. But in 2 of my fantasy keeper leagues I've run / co-run we've been doing it for the last 2 years. In a fantasy keepers, it works pretty great as well. For myself, when I first heard about it, it was pretty much after EDM drafted McDavid, so I was all for anything that would stop EDM tanking year after year.

It would never happen but.. If DET won 1st overall, VAN won 2nd. DET 1st pick to VAN for 2nd+Petterson? I don't VAN would dare to do that, I am just being silly about the Hughes brothers thing. I am guessing VAN would be more than happy with sticking with Petterson+Kakko over Hughes.

Yea I've mention in passing in a post a week or two ago. The Gold Plan is a solid idea. It's at least in the right direction in my opinion. I think the idea kind of starter floating around in 2016. But a bunch of grumpy old owners don't like it from what I've read about in the pass.

NYR - 2. COL - 5. DET 1. DET - 2. MIN - 3. BUF 1. ARI - 2. PHI - 3. DET ARI jumping 13 spots as well as PHI jumping 8 in the same lottery would be crazy. If EDM and BUF go 1 - 2 I will forever believe the lottery is truly rigged. I was happy to see CHI not once make it into the top 10 in any of my sims. Lots of 5-6 picks for DET makes hurts deep down. NJ only had 1 sim in the top 3 out of my 10 sims, ouch.

I go by rounds I guess... Not really going to jump on a bandwagon. When the Wings aren't in the playoffs, I more so root for teams to lose. TOR and PIT losing would be great.

The more I read about Byram, he's the player most I want outside of the top 2. I just feel like we really need a home run hit at D for once and he appears to be the best D in the draft. I was hyped as anyone about getting Zadina, but I felt a small sting about RedWings letting Q.Hughes pass by. As for the top 2. I am starting to lend in favor of Kakko over Hughes, but I really don't know which is better. I guess I feel safer with Kakko. I would be hyped for either one to be honest. Another player I am starting to really like a lot is Podkolzin. I think if ( which most will be ) Hughes, Kakko, Cozens, Byram are gone Podkolzin my dark horse. Something about him screams you'll be sorry if you don't pick me if you get the chance between 4-7. If we fall back to 7, I would be more than happy if we draft any of Cozens, Podkolzin or Byram. Any of them falling in our laps at 7 to me would be like Zadina falling into our laps all over again. 1st-2nd Kakko - Hughes tied 3rd-4th Cozens - Byram tied 5th - Podkolzin That would be my rankings right now I think. Can't wait for the draft!
