If anything I could see players with NMC being except, not NTC. You can can put a player with a NTC on waivers right? If yes, I dont see how this is much different.
-
Stamkos is scheduled to be a UFA.
-
Look at his stats Frank, he hasn't declined that much, his issue is staying healthy. I have no doubt that a completely healthy Datsyuk for 82 games could still score in the 70-80 point range. I admit we will never likely get that again, but the guy isnt some washed up veteran that some are making him out to be (I dont mean you). I think everyone knows we need to replace Datsyuk at some point, but I believe there is no reason to think Larkin cant jump into that role in a few years.
-
Where did you get this from?
-
Completely agree, Datsyuk hasnt really declined that much. The issue he has is that he cant stay healthy for 82 games anymore. At the end of the day, if we get into the playoffs and he's healthy at that point, thats all that matters.

He's ranked 4th in GP out of all active players 1) Jagr - 202 GP 2) Hossa - 194 GP 3) Elias - 162 GP 4) Datsyuk - 152 GP http://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/records/nhl-players-all-time-playoff-games-played-leaders.html

Nice! They need this game! -
I dont get why you are so ridiculously low on our young guys Frank, Mrazek has been great this year. You are saying he will never be as good as Lundqvist, yet in his first season as a starter he is putting up better numbers. I'm not saying his is better, but you are really really downplaying his accomplishments this year. Lundqvist: 31-18-5......2.35 GAA.......92.2 Save % Mrazek: 26-15-6.......2.21 GAA........92.4 Save % Not to mention, Mrazek is playing in front of a defense that you consider horrible, while Lundqvist has one of the best defenses in the league in front of him. What does the guy have to do to get your respect?

You're probably right, but if I am Holland my pitch to Stamkos is you are a 4 hour drive up the 401 and a 1hr plane ride away from your home town, and in Detroit you are playing with so much less pressure then if you play in Toronto.
-
That is definitely a big part of the problem. I cant blame either of those two, as they have busted their butts for this team for years and are simply older and beat up. But they are no longer guys you can count on to get you a PPG for 82 games. Hopefully next year they can be our secondary scorers while some of our kids combined with a UFA signing can move up to the first line. That's a lot to ask of a Larkin at 20, but if this team could land a Stamkos (ya I know it wont happen) having Larkin, Stamoks, AA, Z, D, Abby in our top 6 is a top 6 I feel good about! Ya he is. I would have to do the exact math to be sure, but if we could trade Howard, E, and possibly Green, with Richards and Quincy coming off the books we could make a play for Stamkos and Yandle. Stamkos is likely going to be around a 10mil cap hit, and Yandle 6/7ish....so we need to clear 17mil for those two. Howard and E alone 9 together, Green is 6, Quincey/RIchards are 7.

If we can get an elite goal scorer, a 1A d-man, and fix our PP, I think this team is fine. Nobody has the perfect team, its not 2002 anymore. I'm not denying that we have holes, but with all the kids we have coming up, and the talent we have on our roster, we are not as far off as some think. If I am Holland, in the summer I am trying to sign Stamkos, make a trade for an elite d-man (this will be very hard), and i'm trying to dump some of our bigger contracts (not going to list them, we all know) that are not needed. With that being said, if we cant do the first two idea's which likely we cannot do, we continue with the re-build.

I'm not going to engage with you Bill, he's out 1-3 weeks like another poster said.
-
Where do you see that he's out until playoffs? The headline says: "Red Wings reportedly hope to get Kronwall (knee) back by end of season" Yahoo is saying this: Niklas Kronwall himself doesn't think his leg injury is all that serious.
-
I was at the Chicago game the other day, and he still seemed like he was flying. Not saying your wrong, he very well could be.
-
If he's hurt, I think its definitely a good idea. If he's feeling 100% but just in a slump, I would have him play through it. I dont get the impression that its from lack of trying.

I cant speak for everyone, but when I personally said Babcock was overrated it was in response to people saying that he was the best coach in all of hockey by a mile. I think Babs was/is a great coach, he's maybe the best in the NHL (though its tough not to give that honor to Quenneville) but the reason why I think most including myself called him overrated was because of the pedestal some people put him on.

I was at the game tonight, and I was trying to pay really close attention to both of them. From what I saw tonight, Kane seemed to be much better then Toews. Now, I'm simply talking offense as I wasn't paying attention to their defense at all, but I'm curious what others think. Toews appeared good, but Kane just seem like a threat every time he touches the puck, its crazy how easy he makes it look. Now I ask this question hockey wise. Lets pretend Kane is not a d****e

Find one other post of mine where I call someone else a troll, there is not a single other person on this board that I have every said that to. On the contrary, I can find many other posts from other posters calling you a troll. Stop trolling, and I will stop calling you a troll. Ovie has scored 516 goals in 822 games. If he plays 10 more seasons which is another 820 games he would need to score more 486 goals. From age 20-30 his scoring rate has been .62 GPG. For him to hit 486 more goals, he would need to have a rate of .59 GPG for the next 10 years. That is way to small of a drop for someone as they approach their 40's as per every NHL player ever. There is no way he hits 1000 goals.
-
Even though he's trolling, good point. You got to feel bad for Tallon, he does all the work in turning the Hawks around, and then Bowman walks in and gets all the credit. Not to say Bowman has done nothing, but he was handed an amazing core to work with.
-
I don't believe you, you're trying to get a reaction. Just like in another thread where you equate Tatar & Glendenning to Toews & Hossa. You are making ridiculous arguments to get people to engage with you but most people dont bite anymore because they all know you are trolling so you keep getting more extreme. When you say things like Toews is better then Datsyuk its somewhat believable, but Ovie getting 1000+ goals, you've jumped the shark.
-
I don't believe for a second you think this lol, you clearly are trying to get a reaction. From a person who thinks 28 is over the hill, you are now saying that a 30 year old is going to get 484 goals between the age of 30-40. That's 48.4 goals per year, for the next 10 years straight. At least keep your trolling believable

Its so hard to compare to the guys of that generation (I assume you are talking Bobby not Brett) as its a completely different world now. When ranking players, you almost have to rank them Original 6 era and Modern Era.

I did, Zetterberg responded "I am 6'0, 195 lbs" http://redwings.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8468083

Here is the scoring leaders from 1985-86 1. Wayne Gretzky*-EDM 215 2. Mario Lemieux*-PIT 141 3. Paul Coffey*-EDM 138 4. Jari Kurri*-EDM 131 5. Mike Bossy*-NYI 123 6. Peter Stastny*-QUE 122 Say what you want about it being easier to score, the fact of the matter is that Gretzky had 52% more points then the person in second place. Crosby or Ovie or Kane etc. are NEVER going to do that. I get the argument about total points, but there is no argument about how much better he was in comparison to his peers. You could literally erase every goal he ever scored in his career, and he still would be #1 all time in points as he has more assists then Messier has points who is ranked #2 all time. Congrats to Jagr! too bad he left the NHL for those 3 years. Would have been nice to see what he could have done. One of the greatest players of all time. You know Patrick Kane is 5' 11" and 177 lbs, right?

Completely agree. Toews does appear to be a good leader, but at the end of the day the culture and system in Chicago is a very strong one from Bowman to Quenville to Toews to the rest of the team. You take Towes out, and put the C on Seabrook or Keith, I still think Chicago is an elite team and can win the Cup. You take Kane out, I think they drop significantly offensively and are not able to win 16 games in the spring.
