I have no problem with Nashville, I was pulling for them. I thought you mean NYI because you mentioned in another thread that you didnt want to see Carolina vs NYI lol.
-
Do you mean the Islanders?
-
HAHA ya I really didnt frame that correctly. I should have said: I hope Boston looses as well. We finally have a year where its not the same old teams advancing which I love, but the one exception is Boston. Plus I hate them in general. And hey, 3-5 is not bad, I was 2-6! I only got Boston and San Jose right.

I hope you're right. We finally have a year where its not the same old teams advancing which I love, but the one exception is Boston. Plus I hate them in general.

Go BJ's! I hope I'm wrong, but I dont think they can pull off against Boston what they pulled off against TB.

We all know Mrazek is usually lights out, or stinks. What does everyone think is more likely tomorrow?
-
haha tocuhe! Ill say this, if Mrazek letting 3 in is a "surprise" and leads to "I told you so's", I think that speaks volumes right there.
-
Well what? He didn't surprise anyone, he did neither, which was the most obvious outcome.
-
Before the playoffs this was the match-up I had the hardest time predicting. I ended up going with Washington, but if I had to pick an upset it would have been this one. Carolina is a very underrated team that unfortunately doesn't get the respect they deserve because they are "Carolina".
-
Sure, and kudos to him for using the rules to the advantage when other goaltenders didn’t.
-
Of course that is most likely, but my question is if tomorrow you were told that he either got a SO or he let in 5 goals, which would you think happened? I was at that game, I remember he was lights out. When Mrazek is on, there is no doubt that he is great! Problem was that he was like a light switch, on, off, on, off etc.
-
I wouldnt waive E, come trade deadline I do believe teams will be interested in a D-man that size to play on their 3rd pairing. I think he can gain us a draft pick if we wait.
-
Call was definitely harsh, but to let 4 goals in during a 5min span is on Vegas. I would have a much different opinion if it was a 1 goal game, the loss is on them.

He did pretty much say he would in his interview. https://player.fm/series/the-valenti-show-1511420

Man!! The Leaf fans want Babcock's head on a platter. Here are a few of the highlights from the HOF forums:
-
Babs is a great coach, and I would take him back, BUT when people call him the best coach in hockey, he is given 50million for 8 years to be the highest paid coach ever and the guy cant get out of the first round for a decade....I'd say he's overrated. '03 was a great year from him as well, probably his best as a coach as he did so much with so little.
-
I agree with your overall point though, Staal was no Crosby or McDavid type of player, and other then him it was mostly second tier players between Stillman, a 35 year old Brind'amour, Cole, Cullen, a 37 year old Recchi, Williams, a 35 year old Doug Weight,Whitney etc. I enjoyed watching that team though, a lot of vets that I really liked at the time.
-
Ya I was just reading that lol. He signed an 8 year 50 million dollar deal (6.25mil per year) and he just completed year 4 of 8. If they are still on the hook for 25 million, I don't see him going anywhere. Thats the problem with committing to 8 years, you end up screwing yourself if it doesn't work out. We'll see what happens.
-
For the most part I agree, but they did have Eric Staal who at that time was a legit star. He scored 100 points that year, and was 7th in the NHL in points.

Steve Yzerman to step down as GM for TBL. Will serve in "Advisory Role".
kliq posted a topic in General
Anyone else just hear that yzerman is stepping down as gm of the lightning? 97.1 just reported it. -
Jeff Riger @riger1984 FollowFollow @riger1984 More Heard today that Yzerman might bring Sergei Fedorov into the organization. Fedorov currently doesn’t have a “solid” job in hockey and he and Yzerman remain close. If true, Fedorov should demand a hefty salary, great benefits and of course his number hanging from the rafters. 7:39 PM - 19 Apr 2019

On the Velenti Show Yzerman said he would have handled the TDL pretty much the same/ I do think Yzerman is more likely to move people though.
-
I do think there are differences, and I agree with what you wrote but I think if people believe Yzerman is going to come in and do a 180 with how this organization is run, they are setting themselves up to be upset.
-
Interview with Yzerman, he pretty much says that he and Holland are not that different.
