The Zetterberg thing is very odd. He may start the season, but if he does miss the start of the season, he is likely out the entire year? Why is the start of the season the marker for whether or not he can play at all?

If you want to compare stats, we really should be comparing each player in their respective primes to the rest of the league at that time.

The big change to our roster if we still had Vladdy would have been no Chelios. I read an article a few years ago written by Chelios himself where he flat out says that he was Vladdy's replacement.

Ya, I read that. Some of these writers have a vision of what a team needs to do, and if a team does not follow that exact path, they will say things like "lacking vision" "directionless" etc. But hey, Arizona and Buffalo have been killing it with their torch it to the ground strategy huh. (not directed at you, its at the writer).

Ya exactly, my bad if I forgot a comma. Franzen was not even close to the level of the other guys, but for some damn reason when he was hot, he looked like a adult playing with children. Too bad it only lasted a few games. -

I think you are misunderstanding me. For the record, I AM NOT saying that Franzen was better then any of those guys. What I said, was that Franzen had an ability to take over games unlike anybody I have seen. That doesnt mean he's a better player. Having a super human game followed by 4 games of mediocrity does not make you a better player. To be fair, I do think Fedorov had that ability as well. I'm in my mid 30's, 1990-2005 is what I grew up on. -

I don't think anyone would argue that through 82 games Franzen was elite (though in his defense, he couldn't stay healthy enough to show us one way or another. What made Franzen special is that he better then any Wing I have ever seen in my life time had an ability to absolutely take over a game. When the guy was on, you would think he was a hart candidate. -

He did and they did nothing. I'm sure the Jets know how he feels, the problem is if he keeps pushing it, he's just going to have the fans turn on him. Going 1 year at a time is pretty much his way of telling them to F off without making it obvious to the everyday fan.

A Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he get paid regardless? Its not a Datsyuk situation where he doesn't get the cash but the team still holds the cap hit. I mention this because I dont think his salary changing makes this any more or less suspicious, unless you are saying from the teams perspective in that they dont care if he plays since they are only actually paying him so little.

I voted Bernier. I think Howard without a doubt IF he stays healthy, but I dont see him staying healthy.
