    Michael Rasmussen out a while

OK maybe I shouldnt have said "tearing up the league", thats fair. But his stat line was 22GP 16-15-31. 16 goals in 22 games (ie. 0.73 goals a game) is pretty impressive to me. I think that was good for top 10 in GPG in the league.

I actually think Nyquist could have a huge resurgence in Pittsburgh. If they slotted him on the second line and paired him with Malkin, we could easily see him hit his ceiling. I would offer Nyquist to Pit for their 2018 1st rounder. Here is the dream scenario: Pittsburgh some how dont make the playoffs, win the lottery and we essentially get Dahlin for Nyquist! AND we get the second pick as well and take Svechnikov. We go into next year with those two, Larkin, Mantha, and AA as our core. Surplus in Wing? Trade one for a potentially elite C or D. Ya Ya, I know, never going to happen, but please let me dream lol.

    Michael Rasmussen out a while

He was tearing up the WHL before his injury (or maybe he was even playing hurt the entire time) but when you are his size playing against 16-19 year old's its not exactly the best way to asses him. I'd like him to get healthy and go to the AHL to see what he can do with that frame against men.

I hope so, and ya some posters were brutal that night.

    Michael Rasmussen out a while

Agreed, but realistically that would be his floor. My guess is he will become a very good 2C.

Completely agree. I think the kid will be fine, maybe never a 1C, but a solid 2C or at worst 3C.

    Michael Rasmussen out a while

Look I get it, you wanted Tippet badly, and Holland picked this kid over him. Then to see this kid run into injury issues must be frustrating. I'd be much more worried if it was concussion, neck, or knee issues. A wrist should fully heal unless maybe we are talking a Donald Audette situation.

    Who would you Rather Have?

Now that we are just over a year out, who would you rather have? Please answer based on the defenseman in question, this pole has nothing to do with Datsyuk's contract or the signing of Nielsen.

It would sound more like sarcasm if it didn’t follow a tone that we have heard from you for years, but sure.

Agreed, Tyler Johnson broke his wrist a few years back, seems fine now.

Ya that's why I didn't mention them. Weren't they killed in the finals?

Why because of E? Plenty of players have broken their wrists and were just fine.

That would have to be the closet comparable since expansion began again in 1991. That was their 3rd season.

Nice to see some new blood. Hopefully LA, Chicago, and Pittsburgh all get bounced first round this year. I would love to see the Jets make a run.

    Who would you Rather Have?

Eric Lindros was injury prone because he skated with his head down.

I just read that he is taking Mantha's spot.

I think Maple Leaf fans will take exception to that. Look, I am not saying we are one player away from a cup, but add an elite player to this team and give us a good head coach, and I promise you we will look a lot better. I think people really underestimated what the loss of Babcock would look like. We are seeing it now.
  19. Make the Wings Great Again!
  20. If you called a guy who scored 58 points a 60 point scorer, nobody would say anything. We come on here to discuss the Red Wings as clearly we all share a passion for this team. With that being said, we all disagree from time to time. The problem with what you do, is when you disagree with someone you will throw out "facts" that are just not true. This is a perfect example. Poster says this kid is a sleeper, and you dispute that by saying you wouldn't call a guy that is top 5 in most experts list a sleeper. If everyone had him at 6, I wouldn't have said anything. But when he isnt even top 10 and is closer to 13 on most lists, people will saying something. You're a solid contributor to this site Rich, but when you use stats and are way off it hurts your credibility and when it happens time after time after time, people stop taking you seriously. Just fact check before you post numbers. To be clear, I say this because I want to have healthy debates with you. But it's frustrating to debate with someone who just says whatever they need to in an attempt to make their point. Please dont take this personally, I'm not trying to piss you off or come off like a jerk. I'm trying to give you advice so we can continue to talk hockey.

If we trade Nyquist it would be nice to have a guy to just jump in and replace him. This is where I heard the discussion https://www.tsn.ca/video/should-the-leafs-try-to-package-kapanen-for-mike-green~1290581

I read the other day on TSN that Kasperi Kapanen and a 3rd was what they thought the Wings could get from T.O. Anyone here know much about Kasperi Kapanen? Star potential? Or is there even top 6 potential? You lost me at the bold. Nobody other then you would call him a #1 D-man (which is what a top 20 D-man in the league is).
  23. He's 14 on this list http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sportsnets-2018-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings-december/ I told you, he just makes stuff up.
