You do realize what the term literally means right? To figuratively call for his head, that would mean firing him, to literally call for his head means you want him beheaded. Bishop is going to get paid, and it makes no sense for us to be the team to pay him with all the long term contracts we have. Fleury is pretty much another version of Howard, and again has a big contract. Our best best is to stick it out with Mrazek, or dump him and go with Howard/Coreau.

For a player to "decline" at 28 years old, without suffering any major injuries (unless there is something we don't know about) tells me he either isn't motivated anymore, has let himself go physically, or was just never that good to begin with.

Based on the logic of this thread, Ericsson is "worth" more then McDavid.

There are so many things wrong with this Bill, but to just address the obvious. - Vanek is a UFA, why would you protect him? - Smith is a UFA and LV will not take him, and like Vanek, why would you protect him? - Bertuzzi cannot be left unprotected as he is not eligible either way It is ironic that you take shots at KH every chance you get, but then suggest moves that are atrocious. Hate Nyquist all you want, but to leave him unprotected is just stupid, He does have value, maybe not as much as some may think, but to lose him for nothing is not a good move. There is no way Zetterberg is not protected. If LV drafts him I see him retiring and then us getting hit with the recapture penalty. Plus if that were to happen, it would be an absolute embarrassment losing your captain like that. Especially in an effort to keep Helm or Abby (the guys that would likely get protected instead). Kronwall is a different story as nobody would take him, and if they did good for us as his days are numbered anyways as LTIR has to be in his near future.

Well if people want a comparable, when Crosby's 3 year entry level deal expired, he signed a 5 year 43.5 million deal which was 8.7mil per year. I could see McDavid being a bit more due to inflation/increase in the cap if he keeps everything up, but I don't see it being more then 11, and would guess it would likely be around 9.7mil.

Again Frank, nobody is arguing that he is a bad player. The argument is that he is looked at like he is at the level of a Crosby and Ovie and he simply isn't. He may very well step it up come playoff time, but he won't be their best player, or even second best player as that will likely be Keith and Kane. Saying someone is not worth 10.5mil is not the same as saying they are bad.

Outside of Frank I haven't heard anyone bring up 15mil per year, and Frank is notorious for overstating a players value. I cant see him being paid almost double Crosby in his first year of being an RFA. Not to mention, if he wants to win that is not the smartest move.

I'm guessing your talking Big Bang Theory, if so I 100% agree with you on the show has gone downhill. Like I said, change is what you make of it. It is what it is, all you can control is your reaction to it. Having hate, loathing it, and bitterness only effects one person negatively and that is you.

As far as the hating change part goes, I completely understand where you are coming from. But I have found in life, if you dont embrace change you are are just setting yourself up to being bitter and upset more often that not.

I don't see the logic in your post. Are you insinuating that the NHL is having to choose between doing a celebrity game and a fan game, and that you believe they are choosing the celebrity game instead of said fan game? If this is what you are saying, I don't think this is a one or the other type of debate. If anything, your argument should be "they should add a game where fans can play with alumni". The problem with this, is nobody will want to watch.

Yes it is called the all star game, and the game itself is just that, a game played with all-stars. The NHL has turned the all star game into a weekend of festivities for the fans, and I'm sure the players get a kick out of it as well. It would be one thing if the celebs were playing in the actual all star game, but if they have a separate game on a separate day, who cares. You dont like it, dont watch it. I dont care for it, and I dont watch it, but with that being said why would I care if someone else gets a kick out of it and wants to watch. To be upset about something extra that nobody is forcing you to watch makes zero sense to me. Sounds to me Frank like you just don't like change. You want things to be exactly like they were in the 80's/90's.

If you watch the video, it comes off so much worse in the pic. He barely did anything to him other then lightly hit him and hold him there for a couple seconds. You cant really see Justin's face but it appears they were both laughing about it.

I cant say I disagree with them not taking accomplishments outside of the NHL into consideration. I have other issues with the list, but that is not one of them.

I don't understand how anyone can be upset with a celebrity game. If you dont like it, just dont watch it. If anything it brings more eyeballs to the product which is nothing but a good thing. Personally I couldn't care less, so I don't watch. John Scott was voted in because fans thought it would be funny to vote in a s***ty player, it had nothing to do with respect or admiration for Scott. The NHL trying to keep him out of the game had nothing to do with him and everything to do with them not liking the fact that fans exploited their system. With that being said, the NHL should have went with it rather then come off looking like jackasses, but at least they embarrassed it come game day. Actually led to a pretty cool storyline throughout the game.

Either way, can't blame Larkin. The NHL should have known better then to change the rules as they pretty much guaranteed a controversy. Larkin could only skate with the rules he was given.

100% agree with this. Its no different then Lucic (even though I cant stand him) going to Edmonton because he wants to play with McDavid. When you have a franchise player like that, it lures other players in.

As much as I love Yzerman, do you really think that if we put Yzerman circa 2006 on this team in replacement of Zetterberg this team all of a sudden becomes a top team in the league? A locker room leader can only do so much.
