I get the logic of Larkin playing 3C if they want him to work on his 2 way game. What is the logic of him playing 3RW with Sheahan as the 3C?
-
You really should include GP in this as it can be very deceiving. For example; Boston has 47 GP, TO has 42, we have 44. If TO wins those 2 games they have on us, they are up 10 points. If we win the 3 games Boston has up on us, we are down 1 point from Boston. I'm not sure why there is such a discrepancy in GP between some teams.

I think Vanek will get at least a 2nd round pick if we trade him. If Polak/Spalling for two 2nd round picks last year, I cant see Vanek getting anything less. Top Players Traded 2016 NHL Trade Deadline: Calgary Flames trade D Kris Russell to Dallas Stars for D Jyrki Jokipakka, D Brett Pollock and 2016 conditional 2nd-round pick Arizona Coyotes trade trade F Mikkel Boedker to Colorado Avalanche in exchange for F Alex Tanguay, F Conner Bleackley and D Kyle Wood Washington Capitals trade F Brooks Laich, D Connor Carrick, 2016 2nd-round pick to Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for F Daniel Winnik, 2016 5th-round pick (previously acquired from Anaheim) Carolina Hurricanes trade F Eric Staal to New York Rangers in exchange for F Aleksi Saarela, 2016 2nd-round pick, 2017 2nd-round pick Edmonton Oilers trade D Justin Schultz to Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for 2016 3rd-round pick Montreal Canadiens trade Tomas Fleischmann, Dale Weise to Chicago Blackhawks for Phillip Danault, 2018 2nd-round pick Winnipeg Jets trade Andrew Ladd, Matt Fraser and Jay Harrison to Chicago Blackhawks for Marko Dano, 2016 1st-round pick and conditional pick in 2018 Draft Toronto Maple Leafs trade Roman Polak, Nick Spaling to San Jose Sharks for Raffi Torres, 2017 2nd-round pick, 2018 2nd-round pick

This is a topic that seems to come in on this board all the time, and I thought it was worth of its own thread. Plus, I very interested in the results of the poll. My question is this: On ice, which player has been the most instrumental to the success of the Blackhawks in this 2010-Present run?
-
My bad lol.....I agree with you. If his last name wasn't Bowman he wouldn't get nearly as much credit.
-
Is this going to be your new thing?.........Sure. Hopefully Abby gets back on his game. I think his absence hurt a lot more then some people realize.
-
The poll was just players, not GM/Coach, but if you are going to bring Bowman up, out of curiosity why do you give him the nod over Dale Tallon? Tallon drafted Kane, Towes, Keith, Seabrook, and brought on Quenville as head coach. Plus Tallon was the one who brought on Versteeg, Ladd, Bolland Sharp, Byfuglien, and Campbell. Bowman has done a good job surrounding the core with good complementary pieces since they lost some of the aforementioned players, but the core was all Tallon.

Remember, you dont place players on LTIR. If you go over the cap, you use guys on LTIR to get cap relief.

They played this afternoon???

Who are you arguing with? Nobody is defending Blashill, I even said it my post that I want a coaching change. You seem intent on creating a debate that nobody is on the other side of. its funny how saying not every move Blashill does is awful, is interpreted by you as giving him a pass. Actually read what I wrote.
-
Your statement doesn't negate anything I said. I agree Bowman won, and I agree Blashill has struggled. My point is that when someone is losing, EVERYTHING they do tends to be criticized. There are plenty of things that Blashill does wrong, I'm not denying that, I have said that I would like a coaching change. But I am not going to sit here and blindly say that every single move he has ever made is wrong. Of course there is no comparison between the two, but lets be objective and evaluate every decision Blashill makes clearly and not let our personal bias's dictate everything we say. You throw a blanket statement at me, and you say I am calling you "a hater", like PVD said if you dont want that label, you probably shouldn't call him Trashill every single post. The irony is astounding.
-
Some people will create a narrative based on their personal bias. For example, people who cant stand Blashill will interpret this as "turning him into what he's not," but those same people who likely love Scotty Bowman will say Bowman was instrumental in the evolution of Yzerman's game. My point being that since they love Bowman, everything he did was great. Since they hate Blashill, everything he does is wrong. If Larkin is going to be out 1A centre, teaching him to pla a strong two way game is not a bad idea. I wish his wingers were better, but that's a different story.

Go Away Troll

You have gotten a bit more clever since your Bill days, though its just a matter of time until you get banned. I see how in your last post you were able to take a jab at the pro Towes crowd, but then in the second half take a jab at the me for criticizing him. A way to troll everyone is one post I guess. Keep trying.

I figured this thread would at some point get a troll post...meh.
-
The only other person I could think of would be Crawford. I didn't include him since they had Niemi for the first cup.
-
You know he is 2nd in the NHL in points with 45. Though compared to last year that is cold.
-
I'm sure he has, but what it showed me is that a guy like Seabrook is underappreciated as ALL the media attention goes to Toews.
-
Ever since Toews had his temper tantrum in the playoffs against us in 2013, which led to Seabrook having to come over to him and calm him down, I have been under the impression that guys like Keith and Seabrook are the one's truly leading the team. I'm sure Toews has his moments, but that exposed his safety net on a very large stage.

When Columbus beat us a few weeks ago some posters made comments like "its a shame to lose to a team like Columbus" etc. etc. etc. As we sit here on December 27th, 2016 Columbus is 23-5-4 with 50 points putting them #1 in the NHL. There is goal differential is +45, also #1 in the NHL. Goals For Per Game - #2 in the NHL Goals Against Per Game - #2 in the NHL PP% - #1 in the NHL PK% - #12 in the NHL So my question is, are the Blue Jackets for real, and are they legit Cup Contenders? Or, are they a team that we should be embarrassed to lose to? LW C RW Brandon Saad Alexander Wennberg Nick Foligno Boone Jenner Brandon Dubinsky Cam Atkinson Matt Calvert William Karlsson Josh Anderson Scott Hartnell Lukas Sedlak Sam Gagner Defensive Pairings Zach Werenski Seth Jones Jack Johnson David Savard Ryan Murray Markus Nutivaara Goalies Sergei Bobrovsky Curtis McElhinney Injury List David Clarkson Dalton Prout

Pretty crazy, they won 15 in a row, then lose 3 out of 4. Just shows you important motivation is.

Are you being serious? Or are you being sarcastic?

Frans Nielsen will represent Red Wings at NHL All-Star Game

Ok, maybe I should have said 7mil plus. Either way 5.25 is 2nd line centre money which is my point. -

You're right, the guy has won at every level. He has been lucky enough his entire career to play with great players around him. He has never had to be "the guy" at the NHL level. On his own team I would say he is the 4th most valuable player behind Kane, Seabrook, and Keith (you could even argue 5th with Panarin). At the Olympic level he's won, but again surrounded by elite level talent (Keith, Weber, Doughty, Price, Crosby etc.). I'm not saying Toews is a bad player, he is a very good 2 way center but the fact that you compare him to Sakic just proves my point of how he is the most overrated player in the NHL. Him being added to the all-star game even proves that further. He is the captain of a team that wins in a big market and makes the NHL money, as a result he is pushed to the moon as "a star", Toews has had the success he's had because he's never played on a team not surrounded by all-stars/elite talent. Like I said, put him on Carolina and he's Patrice Bergeron at best, but more likely he's a solid 60 point scorer who nobody talks about.
