Can't see kindl Quincey and smith having longterm futures in detroit As for ouellet marchenko sproul and jensen who knows what'll happen with them , if they were top pairing guys they'd have forced there way on to the team(not saying none of them are nhl worthy at the moment) + he probably sees dekeyser who came straight from college and got in soon in the wings lineup and is performing as where as schultz and the other dmen to sign so far haven't done much And in the article it mentions he's a redwings fan , if I was a college hockey player who turned free agent I'd sign with my favourite team if they wanted me ... At the end of the day regardless of where you play your gonna have to play your best if you wanna stick around These players who want the easy in and want to go play for Edmonton and bottom teams I'd bet money they wont have great careers

If he gets another 20-25 goal season then yes he's worth the money , who else would you rather have than abdelkader in front of the net on the ppl? Hornqvist? I always tend to think regardless where the player is from who gives a s*** as long as he's good and contribute Abdelkader is from Michigan , there's no way he's going anywhere ... Not a chance , the guy crashes the net and gets in opponents faces, he's becoming our holmstrom on the powerplay now(no one can ever be as good as homer) Most of the players on the wings play the same style of game and he brings something to the team most of the other players don't bring That being said when it's all said and done I could see something like a 4-5 year deal x4per .... All those kids we have coming up won't be getting big money for another 5-6 years so it won't be a problem at all to resign abs

Been looking around with all the talk of expansion team(s) after this next season coming and saw this 26 of the 28 teams existing in the league at the time of the draft were each allowed to protect either one goaltender, five defensemen, and nine forwards or two goaltenders, three defensemen, and seven forwards. The Atlanta Thrashers and Nashville Predators had their entire rosters protected, as they were the two newest franchises in the league, only being in existence for one and two years respectively. Does anyone know if these rules would still apply? That was from the 2000 expansion draft If that's the case I'd definetly only protect one goalie so we can protect more d's and forwards
