I understand that it's The Way of the World now, but I am not a fan of big, long goalie contracts. There is no denying The King is a superstar, but even he is human and capable of s***ty, inconsistent play. That being said, if they don't have an extremely reliable second option in the pipeline, the Rangers would have been insane to let him walk away.

So are you telling me that he truly believes there are *30* defensemen in this league right now that are better?! I don't get this not a number 1 bulls***! He is no Lidstrom. NO ONE CURRENTLY PLAYING IS. There are maybe 10-12 defensemen that you could justifiably rank above Kronner. ???????????? Then how is he not number 1 material? There are 30 teams! Do the other 29 all have better #1s than the Wings? Yeah, didn't think so. SMH

I started a thread awhile back when I first got the book on Amazon. It was a quick read and while not as well-written as Probie's book, it was a very frank, honest, and sincere look into how Mac sees hockey and himself. He had nothing but reverence for his old teammates, and you can tell there is a lot of love there. Definitely worth a read if you have time to kill. Like 55fan, I love Darren and what he brought to this team. The man has his demons, but he does the best he can with what he's got.
