I don't think it's a matter of them "not showing up," because I agree they played solidly--THIS game. The thing that frustrates me is that we shouldn't even BE in this position because the Wings should have AT LEAST 8 more points from games that should have been easy wins had they just decided to show up and play hard. The other frustration is that regardless of how solidly they play, none of that matters if they're not finding the back of the net. We have FAR too many games where we can't seem to score more than two goals--and the Wings record when scoring three or more goals speaks to that. Something like 16-0-2? Wow. Just wow.

Then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. There is an entire team in front of Jimmy that has underperformed and hung him out to dry time and time again. They are responsible for this season. This is one game. Granted, it comes at a clutch time, but that wouldn't be the case if this TEAM hadn't backed themselves into a corner.

Jimmy's allowed to have a s***ty game. Some of our players have had a s***ty entire (half) season. Blaming Jimmy? Really? This board...sometimes I feel like I'm being trolled hard. I'm just gonna...go over here...

Flip really frustrates me. He could be so effective if he would just go back to basics. I can't tell you how many times I see him deking and dragging all over the place when the simple play is available to him. He's not Datsyuk, as much as he wishes he could be, so just make the sensible play! He's got so many great qualities that are getting lost in complication...Edit: God dammit! Please don't piss this one away.

I'm not opposed to the idea of multiple outdoor games, but the epicness with which the NHL continues to f*** up a good thing just astounds me. Of course it would be during the year the Wings are hosting the WC, in the biggest venue yet, and of course one team will get TWO OUTDOOR GAMES DAYS APART BEFORE OTHER TEAMS GET EVEN ONE. EVER.
