I was referring to it being his second alcohol-related offense, but you're right--they are two very different situations. I don't really fault him for the first, just hope this does not become a pattern that continues to escalate for him.

Had a long response typed up that was probably entirely too personal. Moral of the story for me is that yes, I get being young and dumb--I once firmly fell into that category and made some monumentally bad decisions--BUT sanctimonious or not, there is a lot at stake when someone makes the decision to drink and drive. The fact that this is the kid's second go round with this situation is unfortunate. Some people don't get to screw up a second time.

Yep. When the event was first announced I would have prostituted myself (maybe an exaggeration...maybe not) to get tix. Now I just want my effing money back. They have sucked all the joy and excitement out of what would have been amazing events. It's an absolute disgrace, and though they should all be horribly ashamed and embarrassed by this clusterf$ck, I'm sure no one who has any decision making power gives two ant farts about how disgusting this whole situation is. I was never close to being done during the other lockouts, but I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

This is what I still don't understand. The players don't stand to make any additional money for participating in the WC, do they? It's THE LEAGUE that is going to rake in an assload of $ so this logic just makes no sense to me! I would think they would be waiting until well into November before they start looking at cancellation. Any business brains out there have any insight? Or is this just a continuation of the wild d!ck swinging we've been so lucky to have witnessed so far? I'm going to print off 2 copies of my receipt for my WC tix, wipe my hiney with them, and send them to the league and the PA. Happy lockout y'all!
