Wings have played well the last two games. Against the Jets every scoring chance against turned into goals it seemed and against Montreal we played a solid 60 minutes with a couple bad breaks, I think the Wings were the better team -
Pretty sloppy game but one of Smith's best I've ever seen

When re defense plays like this we don't have a chance. Forwards have been careless but the defense is consistently getting skated into the ground with no pushback

Our forwards don't even have a chance to play hockey because the D can't make a single play out of their zone. Any team with a focus on putting the puck behind our net and forechecking is going to win our defense has absolutely no answer

IMO a line up with this much depth and key defensive forwards is built for the tight checking playoffs. Then our defense is balanced and Babs could really manage ice time/match ups I think Smith's defensive game is very underrated here. Most his mistakes come in the offensive zone -

I'd be ok with moving Ouellette for Franson and roll something like this Dekeseyer-Kronwall Franson-Quincey Smith-Ericsson That's a lot of depth top to bottom. Very strong defensively with 1 offensive weapon. Babs could cut down on Kronwall's ice time -

I think Yandle can be had for something like Helm+Smith+1st maybe replace Helm with Sheahan
