Good point. Alfie,Abdelkader and Franzen have all played much better without Weiss. Even the fourth line looked better than it did with Weiss earlier in the season. And, low and behold are second line, with Weiss, was god awful from the start to finish of the game. Even when Weiss was centering the 3rd line with Tatar that line looked bad. He brings down every single player he has played with. It's almost funny at this point. This is unbelievably bad. I really do hope he has been injured because this contract is looking like the worse signing of Holland's career

I wouldn't mind trading Howard and going the way of past wings teams and have solid Defense and offense with below average goaltending. It allows you to play the game the right way. Relying on your goaltender is bad hockey. Our Defense is a disaster and Howard is too inconsistent that's a bad combination. I want to see an improvement to D this season. Smith can be a great D-man but his growing pains and mistakes end up in the back of the net because we have essentially 2 top 4 d-man and the rest 5-6. No support at all for Kronwall-Ericsson and they are far from a perfect top pairing

Any team can whoop us if they pressure our D. I have to admit in the 3rd Panthers were forechecking hard and playing with a lot of speed and way more physical. Our Defense sucks it's a huge hole

Weiss is probably day to day. Babs is probably pissed at Howard. I think he's giving an attitude problem cause in the shoot out he looked like he wasn't even trying. It looked like he was almost skating back to the bench before Boyes even shot the puck

Atleast he got a grade A scoring chance which could have been a GWG that is an improvement

We played well enough to win. Defense couldn't handle the pressure in the 3rd added with Howard being terrible in pressure situations. That's the recipe for almost all of our losses. There's no reason for Howard to get another start until Gus has a stinker. Babs has a history of putting certain players well being over the teams success though so who knows. I don't think he has as much sympathy for Howard as he does for Cleary, Weiss and Bertuzzi

Quincey is about as bad as all our other defensemen when it comes to turning over the puck. He's made a few more glaring mistakes that have cost us but the Defense as a whole has been terrible all season. We over come it sometimes to win but they are a huge liability every night. Adding a good defensemen would really put into perspective how bad these guys actually are

Our D and goaltending is consistently losing us games

Conklin got the start last winter classic then Ozzie tore it up in the playoffs. If we had played our capable goaltender we would have atleast 3-4 more wins.

A good goalie could have saved that 2nd goal. He responded with giving up a ridiculous rebound and almost letting in a fluttering shot that he didn't see until it hit his glove
