  1. I've wanted Edler for a while I think he'd fit in nicely. I know Vancouver really needs goal scorers. No idea what it would take. I'd be willing to part with Tatar but not Nyquist
  2. Wings know how to play tough without fighting. See Ducks series
  3. I want abdelkader running people over

Zetterberg to captain the 2014 swedish olympic team?

Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall, Alfie maybe Ericsson

These are 4th line players they don't make or break a team. This is a good 4th line no matter how you feel about them personally. They're good guys to have on your team in the playoffs too. They know what it takes. I personally feel very comfortable sending out that 4th line compared to what we had last years playoffs

Cleary will bring it in the playoffs like he always does. He went from being pretty much useless last regular season to being one of our most effective forwards in the playoffs. Playing less minutes will help with his diminishing skill level but the heart and drive is always there. Like a Dallas Drake. Sammy is a very good 4th liner with lots of playoff experience. Expensive yes but he's not blocking a better player from playing. He has a snarl, big body and can bury his opportunities. I feel bad for Weiss but with Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Helm and even Andersson looking better than him he has no place on this team. Datsyuk and zetterberg should be split. Getting him off the books and freeing up that salary and the burden of having him for 4 more years will do wonders in the offseason. If we can get a rental D man while doing that even better.

Sammy and Cleary have the ability to be big role players come playoff time. Cleary will be throwing his body around and Sammy has a history of scoring big playoff goals. They're definitely over paid but I can't see them getting outplayed by other 4th liners. At this point I'd like to see Weiss traded if it can upgrade our Defense. If not, another great 4th liner for the playoffs. As it stands this lineup I believe has what it takes to go all the way. The whole lineup is filled with players that are known for raising their game in the playoffs

    Brendan Smith

Really elusive and when he's carrying the puck out of the zone he's flying. Good in the O zone too. He's just gotta try and shoot more. He seems to get hit pretty good every game though He really looks like he has potential to be a top pairing offensive d man. Dekeseyer and Smith. Our top 4 could be deadly pretty soon. I think we have the ability to surprise a lot of people these playoffs. If everybody plays to their capability I don't see how we are not a contender

Keep him for the playoffs then try and get rid of him for nothing just to shed some salary. This team is better suited having Datsyuk and zetterberg split on lines 1 and 2. Especially in the playoffs

    Weiss

Remember Madano wearing 90 scored in his first game than the rest of the season was a write off. Weiss looked great his first couple shifts and almost scored and now he looks like a 4th line center

I'd trade him for a rental player at the deadline at this point. If we spent that 5M a year on a defensemen we'd be a serious contender. Instead we have an average 4th line center. Good thing is we don't need him at all

Move him to the top line and scratch Nyquist at the least

Finally islanders playing like goons right now Abdelkader penalties usually bite us in the ass late in periods

Just venting my frustrations. I haven't bitched about Weiss all year but it's getting ridiculous. I complain mostly about Kindl but so far he has been alright in this game

Weiss hasn't looked like anything more than a 4th liner in a Red Wings jersey

Stat line doesn't look good gotta take control of this game Any chance Weiss can be dealt at the deadline? There's 4 better centres on this team and we can shed his salary at the very least

Need size and strength on each line. Abby has been great all year. Tatar doesn't match up well against top 6 talent he's best suited for the 3rd line. Good for him and good for the team

When Jimmy is at the top of his game he is worth his contract. But, more often then not he isn't. His deal will never be a steal and chances are if he continues the trend of his career and doesn't grow as a goalie this will be an overpayment. He got paid for what we've all seen he's capable of.
  25. Jesus lol Tatar isn't some blue chip prospect that was a guaranteed good NHLer. The fact that he can come up as a rookie and be part of a great 3rd line and contribute is all you can ask of him and not something he would have been able to do without his time in GR. Same goes for Nyquist. He stepped in and looks like a mature NHLer. Had they not stayed in GR for so long there would be a lot more growing pains. I think Holland and everyone's philosophy works great with developing late picks and getting the most out of them
