    Practice 2/18

Fil needs to be able to center the second line, mind you with better line mates. Get Franzen back on his wing with Tatar. Zetterberg - Datayuk - Brunner Franzen - Flippula - Tatar Bert - Helm - Sammy Cleary - Abdelkader - Tootoo/Andersson This lineup leaves a huge opportunity for Babcock to do in game adjustments if the game isn't going well. Spark some life into lines not doing well without any considerable drop offs

2nd lines a joke. Better lock up Flippula so he can replace Datsyuk effortlessly just like Kronwall replaced lidstrom

    Valteri Flippula

Let's discuss Flippula for a moment. I've been talking about Flippula a lot lately and it's not because I don't like the guy. I have always stood by him in his developing years and knew he would have his breakout year last year. If you look back at my older posts I have always been a big fan but, this being his final year in his contract, I just don't find it wise for Holland to give him a raise and lock him up long term. Going forward this team needs to be bigger and stronger. Finesse and skill is fine but we have more than enough of that. Flippula gives us no extra dynamic in the top 6 and honestly, if you replace Flippula with Nyquist I don't expect to see much of a difference. Flippula would make a huge difference on other teams and be worth the money to them but to the red wings I don't see a place for him if we get to the point of being a stanley cup contender. I would love for Holland to atleast take one step in the right direction this season by getting somebody new that can shake up the lineup And this isn't because I'm freaking out about the loss. This is a big choice Holland has to make whether to keep him, trade him or let him walk so and that is just my opinion

    Valteri Flippula

There's no doubt the chemistry in the top 6 would be a lot better with 1 or 2 more shooters. When I envision a rebuilt stanley cup contending Detroit Red WIngs I don't see Flippula in the top 6.

    Time to sit Ian White

Erricsson has been great like I knew he would. Such a shame he's coming into his own while every other defensemen plays like pooh. Kronwall and Ericsson could be great together but Kronwall is still on vacation. He looks brain dead out there

This team needs to change it's dynamic because as of right now were not a puck possession team. imagine one day watching the wings and they are the league leading shot blockers... that would be amazing

Kronwall and Quincey have been a complete disaster only because they have the ability to play much better. Kronwall is the most disappointing player this year. Even when the team is playing great he is still awful. How many times on the penalty kill has a pass gone cross seam right between his legs. Or when the wings rush down the ice and pass to him as the trailer where he can walk right in and he fumbles the whole play. Offensively he gets in the right spots but that is honestly the only positive thing he has been doing all season. Kronwall needs to be called out. This kind of play is unacceptable when we had lidstrom and Rafalski and Stuart. He s*** the bed when the team needs him most. Maybe he can't handle pressure No shot is an automatic goal especially when Howard is out covering the angle. The one timer on a 2 on 1 is what the defenseman cover. Let your goalie make a save and jimmy was prepared for it. Sometimes the goalie gets beat but don't allow a tap in

    Kronwall should stop playing hockey

    Mule out tonight

Well then I shall consider your argument invalid. The whole team is streaky not just a single player and I doubt Babcock would blame losses of the team on a single player because of his streakiness

Blind love? The writings on the wall. He leads our team in goals every year. He's quite obviously one of our most important forwards. It's called blind hate not love. And no, I don't think Babcock has ever questioned his work ethic or intensity or he wouldn't be out on the ice when the games on the line
