Breakout season I'm predicting from Ericsson. Kronwall is a good match for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he played himself onto the powerplay
-
I hate Lappierre more than anyone in the league, love how Abdelkader always whoops his ass

I can see Holland holding on to our expendable pieces until the deadline. Emmerton, Mursak, Tatar, Nyquist and Kindl can all be used in package deal for a great defensemen. Holland will wait until the deadline and a team looking to rebuild. Would you trade Nyquist, Emmerton and Kindl + picks for Iginla and J Bou for a playoff run? Visnovsky files NHLPA grievance to void NYI trade

I really think Ericsson is already on his way to becoming a great shut down defensemen. Everyone really under values him on this site. He took a huge step forward last season. Let's not forget what kind of defensive partners he has had to play with and now he's with Kronwall and I think they will prove to be a better pairing than when Kronwall was with Stuart the last few seasons -

Bertuzzi and his 53% effort will never get injured. A guy who goes hard and misses 40 games a year or a guy who plays 82 games half speed -

Detroit Red Wings Impact Players: Valtteri Filppula
joesuffP replied to WingsFan19's topic in General
I still want wings to load up first line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Flip would be more important to the team if he developed into a great second line centre -
Alright we all love Nyquist but no way is he a better option than Bert, Sammy, Franzen in the top 6. We're trying to win games here.

If Helm's injury is serious enough to miss time, Nyquist would come in as the third line center and Franzen would stay put.

Reports said Franzen was playing on a line with Bertuzzi and Cleary idk I could be wrong
-
Brunner should be stoked to be on a line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Should give him lots of energy and confidence. I'm guessing Helm out means Franzen to third line center and Nyquist in top 6
-
I don't see a problem with the second line. These lines are great to me other than no Nyquist. We all really like Gus but there's really no room for him unless there's an injury in top six.

Need a top 6 forward and a #1 D man and we got a nice looking team I must say Hopefully Brunner and Smith play up to potential and Cleary isn't broken again this year

Reports saying gardiner and kadri for luongo bad deal for Toronto if they accept.
-
I can see Babcock giving helm a chance in the top 6 move Franzen to 3rd line centre but honestly that makes no sense
-
The third and fourth line will always be a factor in every game. I think Cleary and Bert will strive in that 3rd line scoring role not to mention Helm. Got to be one of the best 3rd lines in the league.
-
Bert-helm-Cleary....Will feast on most 3rd lines especially if Cleary has a bounce back year.
-
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen Brunner-Flippula-Sammy Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Tootoo-Abdelkader-Miller Looks good to me
-
Edler is a complimentary D man on a Stanley cup winning roster that will want #1 D man money I'm satisfied with having well balanced defenders on all 3 pairings w/o a superstar until our prospects develop. Edler will want too much money and will end up getting it

Maybe they have a verbal agreement (we all know how far those go though...) for him to sign after his senior year this spring...my buddy who was dating Dan's sister moved to Florida last June and he hasn't mentioned anything about her or him in a long time.... I really hope he does become Wings property though!

He's in his senior year now?

If you go on twitter you can find a handful of idiots blabbing about s*** anytime you'd like, it doesn't represent how the country feels at all. Most Canadians are most mad at the Canadian team for playing like absolute s***, even the most uneducated fans only blame subban for the loss
-
Wings will keep shoring up D with lesser signings in offseason until Smith and Derkeyser (don't know how to spell yet) bloom into stars. Then we have other prospects that will be coming into their own by that time
-
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="number9" data-cid="2338319" data-time="1357600629">

Would be an awesomeeeeeeeee line. Only a problem I see is then who plays on Datsyuks RW? Fil? Goose?

Ya no real shooters but I think flip and pavs defense and tenacity will create scoring chances... If it doesn't work put Sammy on there and Bert on the 3rd. Pavs and flip playing together will get their points one way or another but our first line needs to be a game changer
-
I think flip-Datsyuk-Bert needs to be a line... They'll get production through hardwork and forecheck. they'll force a lot of turn overs Zetterberg seems to find chemistry with everyone he plays with and I don't remember a time where Franzen got a lot of time playing on his wing... Franzen-Zetterberg-Brunner will be well balanced and each player having the ability to beat goalies with their shot
