Ericsson is steadily improving every season and is an improvement over Stuart at this point IMO. Kronwall was awful last year for the most part so expect an improvement from him. Quincey is a good D man that never got a real chance to show what he's capable of. White is hard to say he could take a step back who knows. Smith has enormous potential, and Kindl I think will be better than people expect. Colo I really don't know anything about

I think omark is still a more valuable prospect than Emmerton

My problem is players like Bertuzzi and Cleary who are called upon to produce above their abilities. Their season statistics look great based on their salary but when the Wings play good teams and in the playoffs then our weaknesses are shown

Goaltenders dives are always blatantly obvious The way the NHL has the rules for stick infractions a ref could call a limitless amount of penalties per game so obviously players are going to learn to embelllish. The rules need to be black and white or have a guideline when exactly a stick infraction is unacceptable because te game is played with stick infractions throughout the game

If we head into the season as is our forward line up would look like Nyquist-Datsyuk-Franzen Brunner-Zetterberg-Flippula Samuelsson-Helm-Bertuzzi Cleary-Abdelkader-Tootoo If Nyquist and Brunner keep their top 6 positions than our bottom 6 looks amazing... Lots of scoring, speed and hitting. That 3rd line could be a game changer every night. That Nashville series was lost in the bottom 6 matchup. Having Helm playing with some offensive guys would give him his real shot at being a scoring threat every game. Than our 4th line has more scoring than most plus very fast and strong. Having this bottom 6 in place is a Stanley cup winning bottom 6. Beef up the top 6 and D and our team will be solid in all aspects

The defence has been totally revamped in a matter of 3 years. This is a transition period. Holland at some point will spend up to the cap and a true #1 Dman will be on the team. There is reason to have a lot of optimism with this team, Holland is not going to hit the cap without seriously addressing all the teams issues. I don't think you could consider Holland failing until he has all his salary spent and not a stanley cup contending team

Well depth wins championships and I believe holland has the peices in place and if at some point he can spend 13M on 2 or 3 players than we have a true contender built from the ground up

What does that have to do with the third line?... If you want to talk about holland than make another hate thread about it and we can have healthy discussions while you get your panties in a bunch
