Wings & Yandle twitter-rumors? Believable?
joesuffP replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
Holland has to be looking at Yandle... If he is willing to trade flip Nyquist and picks for Nash he must be willing to do the same for Yandle the question is will the coyotes take it -

If we traded for Yandle I would thank the lord everyday we didn't sign Suter to that contract -

So what would be the plan for next year than? Yandle is cheap and short enough term. There's no free agents of his calibre that is goingto sign that cheap. People think they're "smarter" hockey fans because they are patient and don't want to do make moves with core players. It would be stupid not to get this guy for so cheap salary wise. It gives us lots of money to just spice up a nice lineup with depth guys and a top sixer in te coming years And what happens in that awkward moment when flippula wants his lifetime contract? Count your losses and build around some new core peices -

We're desperate for a D man like this you gotta give up some good peices to get good peices... Everyone's bitching about having the same team for the last 4 years and this shakes things up... Yandle is a stud and can almost get as much points as a defenseman as flippula gets on the 2nd line -

Make the trade happen... Yandle is one of the most underrated defenseman in the league him an Kronwall will be a bonfire top pairing... Reports are saying they will want a d man back though -
No he's not worth that much for any years definitely not going to be worth 7 mil in his 12th 13th year... Yandle is 2.5mil cheaper an puts up more points on a weaker offense and has played 82 games three years in a row

I'd rather trade for Yandle than sign suter to that retarded contract

Ya saw some stuff on twitter about Flippula being offered for Yandle. Get it done Kenny... Flippula's contract sucks though for trade bait. Please Holland make a trade for a D man. -
Do you think with this roster that the Wings are a 7mil defensemen and 6mil winger away from more stanley cups? Cause there is 13mil to spend. Something will come up and when it does were going to be glad Holland held on to that money

The 4th line needs to be able to skate he have big guys on D I'd rather have a smaller quick 4th that can forecheck than some ppl that are only on the team to "scare" the other team. Some people hold on to the thought of having enforcers is helpful when evidence has shown they are all but dead in this league. Forechecking on our bottom six is going to be a problem for every team. Having guys like Helm and Abdelkader first ones in and having tough guys like Bert and Tootoo to keep the puck in is a great recipe for a good forecheck

The hate on Franzen is really annoying. The guy had one bad season last year and still put up good stats. That 3rd line of Bertuzzi-Helm-Sammy has me really excited... Look how our 3rd line matches up against the league Canucks: Higgins-Lappierre-Hansen Penguins: Dupuis-Sutter-Cooke Blackhawks: Bickell-Bolland-Hayes We will have an advantage game in and game out Add that with Bert seemingly being able to find chemistry with anyone on his line and adjust his role

Realistically, If we were to build a Stanley cup winning set of forwards the only changes you'd make is replace Nyquist and Brunner with proven snipers. Those two have no place on this team unless it is in the top 6
-
I want Brunner and Nyquist to have top six roles... Sticking them in the bottom six doesn't make sense. Take advantage of our situation and let them learn how to score with the best players the world and the bottom six can save our asses here and there
-
Our bottom 6 is a huge improvement and our top 6 is upper end in the NHL with two rookies playing in the top 6 anything can happen... If they perform well we could have a deadly top 6 with tons of depth on every line... Our forwards are fine. Everyone is basing our offensive ability based on the worst streak heading into the playoffs of memory. The wings have had one of the better offenses in the leaugue for a long time and we have only gotten better. That streak and the first round of the playoffs have made you forget about the other 60 games.

Flippula and Datsyuk always miss the net and you could say Zetterberg is a logo hunter as well

Signed Red Wings re-sign Quincey: 2-years, $7.55m total, $3.775/yr
joesuffP replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
Man Stuart was soo bad for 2 years why do people have such a boner for him... Quincey will be a better defenseman this year and people will still think about Stuart as the better option.. Quincey is gonna get hated on here no matter how he plays it seems -
Red Wings make "helluva" offer for Nash, no response
joesuffP replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Well players now know Holland is making offers so finally everyone won't have such security and will have to play hard if they want to stay in Detroit. Franzen must know he's trade bait right now -
Should Pav and Z play on the same line for the majority of this season
joesuffP replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
It's weird seeing Pav with a larger beard than Z.... I say give Flip a chance to play the centre on the 2nd line. If these reports are true the Wings organization have a lot of faith in flip. It seems like Pav hasn't been able to find chemistry with anyone the last couple years, truth is he needs a shoot first mentality player on his line. I wouldn't be surprised if Samuelsson becomes a big part of this team next year -
Heading into the free agency frenzy I believed if we didn't land Suter our team would be doomed, but the more I think of it the more I like having our prospects play all year round. Throw them in the fire and see what they're really made of. At this point, anything we can pick up will be helpful but they're no core players floating around. 2 year deal max for Doan. I don't think Detroit looks like a very appealing destination, but Holland might as well throw the bank at him for 1 year. If he doesn't get him oh well. Atleast Holland is busy doing all that he can. Detroit has been a potential place for every big signing and every big trade so you can't fault Holland. Adversity bring the best and worst out of players... Let's see what our prospects have in them

Imagine if Flippula continues to go forward and keeps scoring? There's so many intangibles with this team. I believe Datsyuk can get back to 90+ points I think you can say last year a bad year for him. the year before Datsyuk was over a point per game had he not been injured he would have been on the league leaders. Franzen can snap back. It was only two years ago Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen were playing close to their best hockey.
-
While we're on the topic of pictures... Does anyone have a pic of the Datsyuk goal at the winter classic? It's like a goal cam pic where you can see the crowd in the back ... High res please. Looked all over google images couldn't find it

When every team has cap space and the desire to sign each of the these players it harder than you think to get a deal done. It's pretty much where the player wants to go ultimately... Where he wants to live, who he wants to play with and who he wants as a coach. Every team threw in similar offers nothing you can do but hope he wants to play for you. At least it will take pens out of Shane doan running but that's gonna be just as much of a challenge. Cap shouldn't have gone up let teams regret their signings not get a free pass every year
-
There will be no trades for a forward this offseason, Holland isn't that stupid. Especially these high profile players where you're pretty much guaranteed to get screwed over. With the FA pool being so bad this year we acquired enough forwards that we can use them to trade for something we don't have enough of, defensemen. Are you people really that short sighted that when you hear a high profile player is on the trading block you don't even take into consideration the shape our team is in right now. We've upgraded our forwards already, now we have to trade for defence. Signing Doan or Semin is all you can ask for in forward department.
