WCQF Game Four GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 1

Why? I could care less how many points he gets. When he's on the ice he is insignificant. People mistake cycling the puck around the perimeter as great hard working hockey. He is an average 3rd liner on most good hockey teams. This is what happened to us with Kronwall... The league started talking about how good he was and Holland bought into it and now were stuck with him. Trade him well he has value before we decide to consider him as a core player, then our core is a soft gooey thing like what you saw today

I always loved flippula and never wanted him traded but I think keeping him would be stupid at this point... He'll never be worth this much again... And he is not what the wings need unless he is on the third line full time because we have other better players in the top 6

Ericsson was our best defenseman all series... I've been saying for years Kronwall and Stuart are terrible... Watch other teams games. Kronwall an Stuart play like a third line pairing on s***ty teams most nights

No head coach is going to want to be an assistant coach for the red wings Todd is not coming back... The PP and PK just exemplify really how bad our system is.. All they do is cycle and throw shots on net from the outside. This team is really just a shell of highly skilled players and on the inside they are hollow... All their success made Kronwall, Flippula, Stuart very overrated... Abdelkader , helm, eaves is a Stanley cup winning fourth line not third line players

Flippula has been useless all series, Franzen looked like he was trying but their offense has no system or style all they do is hang on to it along the perimeter... I think coaching and flippula need to be moved... Flippula is good and all just not a top six forward on a Stanley cup winning team. He will never have as much value as he does right now

I Think the best move for holland in the offseason is to trade flippula.. The league will look at this as his breakout season and we"ll be able to get a high return for him. Flippula playing style is exactly the problem with the red wings style... Perimeter play, weak, not intelligent, no shot whatsoever....... Good defensively... Why does our defense blow so hard if we have all defensive forwards? I'd much rather trade flippula than Franzen

I would trade flippula in a heartbeat... Guy never steps up in big games... His point total is flattering he only scores against s***ty teams

    Game 4 lines

Datsyuk - Zatterberg - Holmstrom ( Holmstrom won't have to handle the puck anywhere except the preds zone. Holmstrom is very good around the net and tenacious on the boards... Might take dumb penalties) Flippula - Franzen - Cleary (Cleary playing well, faster and stronger than Hudler) Bertuzzi - Abdelkader - Hudler ( really like this as a third line... Bottom 6 have won games for both teams this series and gives serious scoring threats on the third line and Nashville can't match it) Nyquist - Emmerton - Miller ( decent fourth line Nyquist can be moved to any line really depending how the game goes)

    Game 4 lines

Red wings were winning all the battles yesterday their forwards dominated theirs... The penalties cost them the game and was the reason for the slow start... Plus Stuart getting turned inside out by a scrub

WCQF Game Three GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 2

that 3rd goal was the back breaker though and a winning goalie should have stopped it... but we never lost because of jimmy we lost because we take 8 penalties a game... I thought we played fine on both ends Predators never had any real pressure after detroit flipped the switch. But taking all those penalties killed us and has killed us in all three games pretty simple, but that's the way they're going to ref this series apparently and I'm not sure the Red Wings can do anything about it. They're going to be short handed at least 6 times a game no matter how they play

WCQF Game Three GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 2

Our forwards have outplayed theirs consistently... I blame both these losses and the fact game 2 was close to all the penalties. Even though we've only given up one PP goal against... you can't take 4 penalties straight and expect to have any kind of momentum or push...

WCQF Game Three GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 2

The power play has been fine... it's the timing of the power plays... it's happened on both sides when the game is going your way and you have momentum the power play/penalty kill is going to look better. Detroit hasn't gotten a power play while they were controlling the play that they didn't score on. It's hard to start a period on the power play or when your getting outplayed

I don't understand what refs are seeing in these holding calls. Every single time along the boards someone has a free hand grabbing someone and then they call about 5% of them. The refs could call a penalty every 15 seconds if they wanted to. That penalty with a minute thirty pissed me off more than anything. Stuff like that was going on the whole game then they call that with a minute and a half left after Detroit is down by 2 goals. It's like they did it just to even up the penalty calls on both sides when they thought the game was over anyways. Detroit should have been awarded at least 1 penalty when they were buzzing around the net for the whole third period and then they get one after they get scored on like "well there ya go, I was gonna give you one this period so it might as well be now"

WCQF Game Three GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 2

Detroit dominates when no penalties are getting called. Especially to start the game killing off a bunch of penalties and getting scored on, you can't just bounce back that quickly. If the first period wasn't a penalty fest detroit wins this game. As soon as the refs let them play Detroit took it to them. It also didn't help that Jimmy Howard didn't make a single save seemed like

funny detroit would never have gotten that penalty called if it was 2-1 still referees called those penalties at the start of the game which set the tone detroit had to battle back and when detroit was buzzing the refs put their whistles away

WCQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 3, at Nashville Predators 2

Idk if anyone pays attention to my posts but before the playoffs started I said Ericsson would be our second best defense men this playoffs and I was right and Kronwall unbelievable with the shot blocking

WCQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 3, at Nashville Predators 2

Please Babcock try something like this... our bottom 6 lost the game for us in Game 1... Our third line would be deadly with these lines... Nyquist would be moved around depending on which lines aren't clicking Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Franzen-Flippula-Cleary Bertuzzi-Abdelkader-Hudler Nyquist-Emmer-Miller
  18. joesuffP

    Nyquist in game 2

I think Holmstrom will be playing in the top 6 in Game 2... I say beef up the third line with Hudler and/or Bertuzzi, give them a scoring touch

Wings meet Preds in First Round

I think the red wings are due to flip things around and the playoffs are the perfect way to do it. Detroit had 2 or 3 bad slumps like this but when they weren't slumping they were playing great and if they play like that then we will win. This team is better than last year... At least the personelle is... Franzen will be a bulldog that will shoot from anywhere and Ericsson will be a rock.. But i sure am going to miss helm

Wings meet Preds in First Round

I think Ericsson is going to take a huge step forward this series. His 3 games back he has been more physical and really good defensively and yesterday I noticed some great first passes. He knows he has to clear creases and be more physical and I believe he will at least try and do what is asked of him. In the games he's been back its been Lidstrom>Ericsson>Kronwall>Stuart>White>Quincey and I think Quincey will get better and better. I like our D and our offence has the potential to light up the Preds but they haven't been playing that way for the past month or so. If our forwards get out of their slump then I think our speed will kill the Preds. Rinne is the Preds best player. Just gotta get him frustrated. Kill the head, and the body will fall

    4/7 GDT : Blackhawks 3 at Red Wings 2

Ericsson was a brick wall, nothing was getting past him. He batted a few pucks out in mid air, he was Lidstrom-like. Made some great first passes. I really like our D. On NHL 12 I did a roster update and The Red Wings defence is a perfect 99

The larionov goal in OT I was 12 years old and my family set up a big tv in the back yard and all of us watched the game and it felt like the longest game ever

    Welcome Back Mule!

I had to listen to the game on the radio because I was at work but it sounded like Franzen was in on some scoring chances throughout the game at the least. I watched the two goals just now and I would have to credit Datsyuk for those more so than the Mule. But I'm not a Franzen hater the game sounded like he was competing and that's what I ask from him. But I'm most impressed by Datsyuk in those two goals.
