Nyquist could be one of the very best goal scorers in the league if he had Ghallagher's mentality just being fearless despite your size. I love nyquist but any unbiased person watching enough wings games would say this man is a huge Wimp... Him and Tatar don't have that fierce competitive spirit that dats and z had. Not because they don't want to but because it's too hard.

This team goes through waves.. We were playing great but based on our rosters limitations it's not sustainable. Then we see this side which I like to call rock bottom. I've watched a lot of team play this year and when the wings are playing like this they are the very worst team in the league. I think it's our small guys trying to just let the game come to them and not busting their ass off every shift like they are capable of doing and are dominant when they do it. It's understandable, it's twice as hard for nyquist to force turnovers on a forecheck then it is someone with that's not a midget. Then theirs just the metal part of being late and too weak to every puck battle. This is a fragile team. Kronwall can be a great offensive top 4 that would be a huge part of every team but when he's bad he's embarrassing to watch because it's all mental fear, he makes plays you can't understand because he's completely rattled. I think confidence is a huge issue with this team

2 of the most consistent scorers of this generation. I'm from BC so I know all about the Sedins but around the league they get brushed aside. Made guys like Anson Carter rich

It's a real shame people here remember Franzen as soft when in reality he was our only too 6 guys with an edge. Other teams hated plying Franzen, in his prime of course

I don't think the team is making a conscious effort not to try and score goals in the third period this team is just offensively challenged. Imo with the type of players we have we should be scoring more goals one way or another. Are shot totals are dwindling down to where we were to start the season as well. We're approaching the halfway junction of the season we're more likely to be in the bottom third of scoring compared to rising to the top third

We've been bad and lucky to get points since that Capitals game. We haven't outplayed a team since then and this includes playing teams like Buffalo. I think if we played a competent team with that performance we would have been embarrassed

Some on here were talking like it would take some miracle for the kid to have an NHL career. I think he's a lock to be a top 6 forward but he has the skill set to be an elite offensive force in the league

Holland will definitely entertain the idea if Stamkos has the wings on his list of teams. He won't be getting into a bidding war but you have to make a pitch if he's interested in going to your team

I've wondered if Kindl and DD would make a good pairing? Kindl is one of our best offensive dmen and he's sitting in the press box when our offense stinks. I think he deserves another shot even though nobody on defense has played particularly bad. Nobody is playing unbelievable either

Giving Mantha a couple games would do wonders for the kid but I suspect a grinder will replace Anderson or something. If only brad Richards didn't exist we'd be more likely to see AA or Mantha in that top 9 role

We're also 20th in GPG even after a flurry of goal scoring. When we're bad it's because we can't score, we're rarely getting blown out because of our poor defense. A lot of that is because our defense don't contribute very much, which is a problem that I feel can be adjusted by changing strategies slightly. When we were playing our best hockey the defense made a concerted effort to put pucks on net and then they suddenly stop and... We stop scoring. I know some guys are uncomfortable with it but it makes a huge difference. E was actually really good at one-timing the puck for that stretch

if we don't make any changes then I see us finishing the same way we have the last three years. Scrape into the playoffs and get bounced early. That's all well and good I guess, if the plan is to wait for Mantha, Larkin and Svechnikov to start making real pushes for cups. We got 2-3 years before we sniff serious contender status. We're just lucky our division hasn't improved The way the scoring dries up and inconsistent defense, this is the exact same team the last 3 years but with better goaltending. It's frustrating but at least we haven't thrown all our eggs in the basket and still are struggling like Anaheim
