I think the flames will regress.. Their goaltending is terrible The thing about the habs is they consistently beat the bad teams. If we can do that it can be the difference between first and third in the division

The expectations are so low for Babs though. It would be way more interesting to watch him coach last years team through their meltdown

If Larkin is an impact top 6 player that makes our team better then he is staying with the team. All hype aside it would be stupid for his development and for the wings as a team to be worse off just because he's 19 years old. If he's ready now, I highly doubt he'll ever reach a point in the next 3 years where the wings are kicking themselves thinking "I wish we never burned one of his entry years, I wish I could send him down to the minors now". If he's ready, he's ready. Sending him to dominate the AHL isn't going to make him even more readier. He needs to play against the best of the best. Having said that, he would have to look very very good for him to stick with the team, but writing him off regardless of his performance we have yet to see makes no sense

I'm not giving up on Jurco, but the pressure is on. Nobody is going to wait for him to get comfortable as a 3rd line scorer when we have a bunch of guys fighting for that spot. Somebody will take that spot and run with it. I think Jurco is capable of doing that but theirs a lot of options. Don't be surprised if he gets benched after a handful of games if he's not producing only because it's a very competitive roster. I like Jurco but I also want to see other guys get a look in that role. We might even have Nyquist or Tatar on the third so that shows how tough it will be

I don't think Larkin will ever play a 3rd line role for us. I think Nyquist or Tatar is more likely to be put on the third line than Larkin

Even if we run into injury problems we have a ton of young guys to step in they could actually make us better. A rash of injuries to the defense could be a blessing in disguise like it was for the forwards a few years ago

Yup! Larkin makes us a better team without a doubt and with Pavs out he deserves to be in the lineup. Surprising to see the Wings have the balls to put him in

Looked clean to me but I haven't seen a replay. Looked like Bertuzzi got his head up at the very last second and Holland got a big piece of him. Thankfully AA was being awesome and we got some retribution. Two clean hits imo Man, AA had an amazing game

Been watching the Canadian broadcast. They've been going on and on about how great the Wings are at developing players the whole game

Last pre season game! Last I checked we were tops in the league standings. By next Sunday we'll have played Babs and his leafs 4 times! Toronto feels like Chicago back in their basement dweller days and how they used to aspire to be the Wings.

I think Larkin would make us a better team but him getting experience being one of the best players in the AHL and possibly a calder cup run would make him a better player. I have no doubt he would be an impact NHL player right now though
