Roster has to be salary complacent to start the season whether Frankenstein is going on LTIR or not -

Best news all summer. Great deal imo. Covers his prime years for cheap -
People in this thread will never understand that Nyquist has proven himself waaaaay more than Tayar at the time tatar's contract was signed
-
Yeah I hate when defensemen choose high numbers. I guess all the good D numbers are taken here though. We need to ditch kindl cause 4 is prime

Over/Under for Larkin's time as a Red Wing in 15/16

I think if he has an outstanding camp he may play a few games early in the season due to Datsyuk's injury -
Sorry if this has been asked, but what is the deadline before this goes to arbitration
-
Lol yeah he should be playing for free 4.5M for 6 years
-
Pavel on the wing is just weird to me. I bet he'll rack up a lot more points though. I think taking so many draws wears him out
-
Would be ecstatic. Richards is just going to push Sheahan harder

Holland doesn't expect to be busy this offseason

Even though it hasn't translated to playoff success or our position in the standings, we've steadily improved each of the last three years. Without that free fall down the stretch we're flirting with winning the division -
I think Nyquist will get something like 4.25 - 4.75 for 5 years. Don't be surprised if it's higher Looks like Boston is just being loyal to guys like Bergeron and Chara and otherwise doing a complete rebuild. Don't want to give out big contracts yet I suppose

I kind of hate when a dman chooses a number like 19 -

I think DD will really take a huge step in his development playing with Green. He can really focus on being a rock solid defender when he doesn't have the responsibility of pushing the play but he can also make the plays when he sees them. He's a really dynamic shut down defender with a great skill set. The only thing I see lacking in his game is his in O zone play and creating off the rush, something that Green really excels at -

I think having a better regular season would drastically help that. We've lost to serious contenders every year other than when we were just awful against Boston. I chalk that up to inexperience though -
Looks like Z won't spend any time at center anymore

Rafalski was a dumpster fire on d but was also small and weak but he had a hell of a career and wasn't a liability playing on the first line. You take the good with the bad. There's not many perfect defensemen. With Green's skating ability and size he could improve his defensive game anyways -

Nobody is arguing that Green isn't all about offence, he is. But he's also very good at being an offensive defensemen. Barry Trotz is the most defensive minded coach in the NHL. His teams therefore, don't score and his teams also haven't ever won anything notable ever. We are a different team with different needs. There couldn't be a worse fit for Trotz' system than Green -

I see you have very sound logic no point in discussing with you further Whole caps team couldn't score in the playoffs. Kind of a Trotz thing evidently. Maybe if Green got more ice time they could -

scored more than every other dman aside from Carlson with less minutes so I don't know what the point of your argument is. We wanted a RH defensemen that can score and we got one. The way capitals manage their team has nothing to do with how we manage ours Seriously ppl stop going to other teams forums it's not helpful scouting reports. Imagine what people would have thought of flippula -

Caps knew they weren't resigning Green when they added Niskanen and Orpik. There was no room for him. Management isn't going to treat him like he's a core player on their team when he's on his way out. Going to other teams HF boards is not a good way to scout out your new player -

Meyers is a young Chara because he's 20 ft tall pretty much nothing else We kept all our assets and gained at the very least, a 40 point dman who will likely score a lot more. Franson is a bad skater and will have trouble hitting 40 points and is also bad defensively. You have to be able to skate in today's NHL to play defense -
Ward isn't going to take a 1 year deal so that's multiple years of a 3rd liner blocking our capable young guys from playing. I think Larkin gets a handful of games with us this year and next year is a regular meanwhile Sheahan takes another step forward
-
Or could just be an incentive for Sheahan and Richards to battle it out for 2nd line duties. Should make Sheahan a better player
-
Possibly just insurance. We have the cap space and he'll be gone next year but idk if he's better than Sheahan
