It's manageable. I think Ray Ferraro was just misinformed about Dats playing the wing? This signing almost guarantees Z will get to play the wing all year even if we have injuries. I really think Wings management know Franzen is done. How could we possibly keep all these forwards

1 year @ 3M?

Edit wrong thread -
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Abby Nyquist-Richards-Franzen Jurco-Sheahan-Tatar Helm-Glendening-Miller Unless holland thinks we'll never ice a completely healthy roster he has to be thinking up a trade Just won a Stanley cup as a 2nd line center Maybe Franzen's career is done and he was just putting up an act before putting him on LTIR
-
This is what it looks like when you stockpile assets for years. We could throw together a hell of a package for some elite talent now
-
I think signing Richards for a year is just Holland being prepared for Pavs and Z to not be healthy all year and not burning a year on Larkin's contract if an emergency happens Dats Richards Sheahan Glendening Larkin Could work... Andersson will just be a plug in at center or wing
-
Yeah I'm not sure on Richards. Shows they want Z to be on the wing at all cost. Guess Larkin has no chance to be a regular. Oh well... Nice to dream. Sheahan could outperform Richards easily

It won't hurt them to play another season in the AHL. Probably play something like 25+ games due to injury anyways -

Ericsson hosed us with that long term contract, would be hard to move. 2 or 3 of bodies on defense will have to be moved before next year -

Dekeseyer-Green could be something special then sign Seabrook next offseason Seabrook-Kronwall Dekeseyer-Green Ericsson-Marchenko Just give us the cup now -

You're probably right. I think Ericsson is a quality top 4 defender but that E-K isn't scaring anybody as a top pair -

Maybe Quincey gets moved during the season? There is always a team that's completely decimated by injury early on in the season. Don't think he gets resigned anyways -

Stay Healthy and this will work out just fine I think. Gives our team a whole new dynamic -
Exciting! Please stay healthy Mike!

We've been so unlucky with all the desperate GMs being in our conference we're not able to be apart of these deals that's moved quality defensemen
-
For the record, Nyquist is probably my favourite player aside from Z and Dats but I wouldn't lose any sleep over trading him for a defensemen like Shattenkirk You would make a terrible GM
-
Blues need a goalie like Crawford. Makes the big saves when they need it but is okay when untested for the majority of the game. This is Howard's weakness. If he's not getting action chances are he'll give up some untimely, bad goals. But on the other hand he can be phenomenal when we're being badly outplayed
-
I can see Eberle getting moved. Hall probably not and the rest of their squad isn't really going to help them win now. I doubt St. Louis is going to trade a guy like Shattenkirk for future players the way their set up so close to being able to win it all
-
St. Louis won't want prospects. They're trying to win now and they have trouble scoring
-
Nyquist+Smith for Shattenkirk?
-
Yandle has a sweet cap hit. Rangers probably asking a lot. They have cap issues but Yandle is got to be the least of their problems for his production and cap hit
