I really don't have that big of a problem with Jimmys performance tonight. All our shutdown guys were awful. Bottom 6 Is only good for taking penalties and Goals against. 4th line is supposed to be our defensive specialists and our PK sucks and they get penned in their own zone every shift. No reason for them to be in the lineup

Our forwards can compete with anyone in the league. We don't have the personnel on defense to be a consistent winner

This is what our defense is. Has the ability to play decent stretches of good hockey but overall, the entire lineup, aside from kronwall is not particularly good at anything. Not dynamic and no edge at all. Smith is really the only promising guy I see in this lineup. DD looks like a decent #4 on average defensive teams

an injury to one of our "shut down" defenders would make us a better team. Ericsson, Quincey and DD have all been completely terrible and it's costing us. No chance Babs makes an adjustment unless we're down by 4 goals and just a couple shifts

I have zero confidence in our defense top to bottom. Even more concerning is that these pairings are cemented. For what?

BJ's aren't even forechecking hard and they're passing to them at our blueline... Pairing deserve to be junmbled. We as fans deserve to at least experiment with a new look 1st pairing

Defensive coverage issues happen when you're penned in your own zone off unforced turnovers. Our defense isn't giving us a chance in this game

DD has been hot trash lately he just looks uncomfortable and awkward with everything he does, kind of like Kronwall. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if our defense keeps playing like this we won't beat anybody except the oilers before the playoffs. It's just not possible with how horrible they play hockey

Babs needs to know that this defensive lineup is a wash. Q and DD aren't some rock solid pairing they look just as bad as the rest of the team

Our defense single handedly loses us games when our forwards and goaltending are great. They can't make simple plays and we have to play on our heels

Makes sense. Pavs and Tatar need somebody who is always first on the puck on the forecheck. Our best at that imo is Helm, then Abby and Glendening.

I thought the third was effective with Glendening on the wing. We aren't going to beat Tampa unless our bottom 6 chip in a lot

I would love to see Marchenko back in the lineup but probably won't happen unless somebody gets hurt. It would be cool for Babs to sit E and make a statement. Franzen in for Weiss is an upgrade any way you look at it

He was bad in a couple games against Boston. In a crucial game 4 where we deserved to win and he crumbled in the third. He's paid 5M a year he should be one of our best players. We can't afford to lose games because of goaltending when we put forth a great effort. I'm not a Howard hater but I admit I have a very "what have you done lately" mindset. I'll admit Howard was our best player on our playoff run two years ago but last year he was part of the problem with untimely soft goals

agreed. Having Mrazek in net might be a kick in the pants for this team to tighten the screws though. They got some wins recently riding on Howard's coat tails and it's not working anymore. It's especially frustrating because our forwards are putting on good pressure usually it's just no team can over come the defensive lapses and terrible turnovers unless you have phenomenal goaltending
