more NHL wisdom: Chris Pronger may work for Dept of Player Safety
frankgrimes replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
#1 he has some input right ? The only good thing is, other players couldn't lie to him because he knows exactly what they were thinking since he's played over the edge more than a few times too. #2 hopefully that's true -
Datsyuk to play Thursday? Weiss to be a healthy scratch?

I can see a point with Muzzin but Toffoli hasn't even played a full NHL season yet. I think Weiss deserves a fresh start somewhere try to package him up for some much needed defensive help -
That guy is best described with one word: Beast what a tank

Man if I'm Lemieux I wouldn't be happy with that, you can bet if the Flyers are behind an opponent some non serious suspensions will turn into serious ones. What a joke... -
I really don't see the mancrush with Mrazek, the guy hasn't played enough games yet << opponents didn't have enough time to figure him out once they do we will see if he's indeed as good as some expect him to be. Also I'm already over this mistake and non surprisingly I've had a lot of fun watching the first two games so far - maybe because I don't expect the playoffs this season - but boy oh boy watching the creativity, speed and enthusiasm of the kids is fantastic. The PP needs a lot of work but this has been obvious after our great #5 retired Love the game of Riley Sheahan as he gets bigger and stronger he also gets more physical. Danny starts to dish out some hits too

The Thing is, the Oilers aren't actually that bad it's just Eakins is in way over his head. The guy has HIS system and no matter what he will stick to it, even if the players don't understand or can't executee it. He got away with it in the AHL, because the Marlies have a stacked roster but it just doesn't work in the NHL. Schultz needs to get his prioities straight the guy is a defender, so defend for christs sake.

Great game, nothing to be ashamed of ******* noon call bit Howard should have stopped that!
-
Never hurts to have more Michigan boys on the team. I also think he would improve the defense a lot.
-
I'd book a flight to america, take a cab to the JLA and drive both to the airport if Buffalo makes that trade *g*
-
Murray is not an idiot, no way we are getting Tyler for Kindl and Weiss.
-
Great work, I would be happy with a point the Ducks are loaded.

See and that's the problem, players are getting bigger, stronger and faster as does the equipment so the only solution is to slow the game down. The problem with the "perfect fighter" is this, those guys are really hard to find (think about Lucic, Thornton and Gazdic), for sure Lucic is a top 6 player and a mean fighter but guys like him are so rare nowadays, it's really a shame. Laraque was a good example of a perfect fourth line enforcer I fully agree with that. I also think the aspect the bigger brother syndrome is playing a bit of a role here, a lot of players are saying they play a heavier game with guys like The Boogeyman (RIP big man ), Orr or McGrattan on the bench. Even if it's just a small affect this would indirectly increase a players performance. When it comes to Brian Burke, the guy has a team with a lot of smaller, undersized and young players he simple can't afford to let rats run over Monahan, Bärtschi or Johnny Hockey (who is under 170 lbs). Just looked up who Brock Lesnar is, good comparison *g*

Boston as tough as they are did lose some heavy hitting, toughness and blue line rockets by trading Boychuk. Chiarelli literally closed their cup window if he doesn't find some much needed magic come trade deadline. Also when it comes to a rugged, heavy game the St. Louis Blues are another prime example or the Los Angeles Kings they are mean, big, physical and man can they ever shut you down. So that's three great models I would instantly deal Weiss for a guy like Sobotka -
Mule Danny and Howard are my three stars. Love watching the kids

Oh thanks had that confused then. If he keeps his performance up, he won't be on waivers :-)

Great attitude I think he will get the 9 game tryout and then they'll finally decide the roster.
