I really thought Eakins would have been a good fit after his work with the Marlies but boy have I been wrong. First he started to wipe out the winning legacy of that room by removing the dynasty pictures and then he started to implement a VERY difficult to teach system with his "swarm attack/swarm defense". Here is a hint Eakins if the players aren't understanding your system chance it. The guy reminds on one of my ex teachers, 1 gave me a very bad grade and after I was fed up with him I've changed during the semester and got a very good grade by doing the exact same thing, differense was the other one knew how to teach. Putting myself in Eakins shoes I would happy about some water squirkels, I mean its an arena packed with a lot of people, the game is out of hand so something to cool myself off would be appreciated. I've also read that is unhappy with his icetime 13 - 15 minutes (a joke for a player like him), he is young, big, powerful and has scored 30 + goals in every full season would be a great addition.

Well to be fair the Leafs are known for taking over every arena they play in but despite that you are right. I really believe this team needs to do a better job in getting the fans excited again, be it a big, nasty hit a fight here and there just something to get the crowd into it and create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposing players again. The Joe really has lost it's mojo during the last years it shouldn't be easy to play against the Wings IN Detroit. Sadly I don't have a lot of hopes for the new arena most of these super modern ones are first class but they aren't encouraging a fanlike atmosphere, as an oversea guy I wish the NHL would be more like our leagues here with all the chanting, cheering, flag waiving :-)

Gooose is awesome but like others have said we still need a scoring powerforward. Someone who can create space for him till Mantha is ready and even more rugged up.

They didn't set the NHL on fire when all were healthy either, no matter the outcome of this season changes are needed. The team needs a new playstyle and a couple of new but fitting faces. As for Roberts I really don't understand why some of the undersized player aren't going to his camp every year if Stamkos can add 30 lbs (although I don't think that's true) other should be able to at least add 15 lbs. Almquist isn't tall nor big enough for the NHL till he corrects that I wouldn't call him up. Also it's not about just keep adding weight the + weight needs to be turned into muscles otherwise the players becomes slower/sluggish kind of what happened to Luke Schenn after his enormous weight improvement went from 205 to 235 in ~ 18 months.

Nice to see a win but boy this team needs to do a better job in the third. With E now being out our top 3 becomes a top 2 Kronwall + Dekeyser ...I feel sorry for Danny his first full rookie season and the guy will have to do some top pairing duties, what a tough task.
