Buffalo is a team, which will have a hard time reaching the cap floor so some crazy overpayment does actually help them. Look no further than the capitals they are a one or two man show at best, which hasn't gone beyond round two of the playoffs because their defense absolutely sucks. There is a reason why teams are built from the net out. Don't do that and you end up like the Oilers Vanek would be a great target, if he could be added alongside a bonafide defender.
