    Leafs re-sign Phil Kessel

I think this is a great or at least fair contract. Kessel is an elite player, his release is deadly and he does it year after year. The only reason why the Toronto media dogs are hating him, is because he isn't outspoken and a shy guy so what? He produces on the ice and lets his actions do all the talking, would love a player like him on the DetroitRedWings roster. I also think Nonis is a great GM for Toronto, he is quiet, laid back and just has his priorities right.

Nyquist taking things in stride, with class

Hopefully he will be back here soon eough, Nyquist is showing a lot of class here.

    Emmerton on Waivers

His mistakes are stacking up, also it is tough to see the big picture here. Last season, the young guns played great and now guys like Nyquist are getting sent down? Put Samuelson on LTIR and play the young guys seriously they can only improve if they play, if there is not enough room for them, Kenny only has himself to blame nobody forced him to sign Weiss or Alfredsson. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

10/1 NHL Out of Town GDT - Opening Night

The Original 6 battle easily, Parros versus Orr is going to be a beauty. Would have also looked forward to Prust versus Clarkson but sadly he is suspended.

    NHLPA approves hybrid icing

This league is turning into a freaking joke how can the PA approve such a stupid rule? Stop ### the great game of hockey, I already feel sorry for the refs their job just became a lot tougher. seriously smaller pads, forced visors, hybrid icing what's next? no hitting because some soccer, baseball or basketball fans don't like it? Leave the damn game its rules and tradition alone! sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Emmerton on Waivers

I'd rather have Torontos fourth line than this edition of a fourth line I think the DetroitRedWings have given up too soon on Emmerton, sure he wasn't that great but the guy is still young and could improve why does it hurt to have him at a very low salary aav?

What former Red Wing would u want to meet?

wow awesome wish I had the same opportunity one day. I think listening to the stories from the man himself about changes, goalies without masks earning nothing compared to today and stories about Richard must be incredible. is he more of a laid back guy or does Gordie. know how special he is? I would call Stevie Y and the perfect human a lot but boring wouldn't be used. They both seem to be very humble guys, who value family, friends, fans and privacy extremely high. Talking to them would be very special for me I mean for most fans these two are having a godlike reputation. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

Tim Thomas Signs With Florida Panthers

Man the Panthers - the Panthers - are more expensive than Winnipeg and Buffalo, this owner must REALLY believe in the arena because obviously the team doesn't make him much money. Would have liked it if they've moved Gudbranson would look good in Red and White sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

Tim Thomas Signs With Florida Panthers

Timmay is one of the best possible mentors for Markstrom (the king isn't available) , also he comes at a great pricetag. this is a good move for the Panthers. maybe this is first sign of a new ownership coming in? sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Petr Mrazek or Jonas Gustvsson

I hardly agree with that, Mrazek still hasn't shown what he can on an NHL level. Monster should have signed with the Stars, take advices from Lethonen and being developed slowly to the north american style, the Leafs sadly had to rush him because Toskala was horrendous. The guy has all the talent in the world, I hope he can put it together soon and has a long succesful NHL carreer. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Wings to Keep Tootoo?

Exact why should a guy like Pasha have to fight? Crosby had had scrums but no real fights. I mean the move he pulled against Chara was hilarious even Chara laughed at it. Stars fighting other stars is acceptable but they shouldn't have to fight some experienced enforcers. Someone mentioned McKee well alongside Dekeyser and Tatar he is my favorite prospect. This guy is going to be an aabsolute force in a few years. meanwhile it would be nice having someone to keep the other team honest, hoe about Peluso? He can play in a fourth line role and fight, the Jets waived him. I'd love to have Engelland there is just no way the Penguins are waiving him, after they waived MacIntyre.I Oh yeah I am very sure enforcers are afraid of the Bergman and Shanahan rulings, if they can jump other starplayers without retailing. It should be like you are sending your tough guys on our stars your stars are going to get the payback next shift. Even Eakins my mentioned that in an interview that's on ice policy and or keeps the other team honest. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Wings to Keep Tootoo?

I take the words from actual players, coaches and GM's over these of people who think, Holland and this organization can't do anything wrong thanks. Also facts are speaking a different language: this new division will features 6 of the top 10 teams in PIMs from last year. Engelland, who is one of the best pound for pound enforcers in the game crushed Shaw and the next shift Scott came out flying (punching), he didn't ask if Engelland wanted to go he had to go, Engelland had no choice/chance at all and now imagine what will happen to a non-fighter like Kronwall? People who have actually watched the East have seen guys getting jumped after hard but clean hits against starplayers or young ones thats a negotiatable fact. Bergervin isn't stupid he realized his team was too soft and he reacted, Mactavish did the same thing a few days ago and there are reasons behind those moves. I'll take a guy like MacIntyre, McGrattan, McLaren, Orr or Matt kassian over Tootoo 10 times out of 10 at least these guys do intimidate the enemy and prevent them from going crazy. Take Buffalo for example, Ott can be more of an agitator thanks to a guy like Scott, same goes for Montreal with the duo of Parros and Prust. MacIntyre is usually that scary, so even extremely tough heavyweights are afraid to fight him, other coaches don't want him going after anybody so they bring in a clean game and don't go after starplayers. If a guy like Orr jumps Zetterberg, Kronwall or Datsyuk what is there to fear? Oh yes the DetroitRedWings enforcer called "powerplay" which was - lets be honest - more of a gongshow than a powerplay without the perfect human, I am sure the other teams are extremely scared of that. I think, some people are still having that impression, that somehow the DetroitRedWings are immune to certain styles, they are NOW in the east not just playing a game here and there, now other teams know if they beat this team they might also get the tie-breaker so basically the games between DetroitRedWings versus team X now are meaning more...

    Wings to Keep Tootoo?

The DetroitRedWings including Holland are in for a rude awakening in the east. Like I said there is a reason why Montreal traded for and signed tough guys. Also these guys are well liked by their teammates and coaches like Eakins already admitted, that they thought about guys like MacIntyre whenever he was on the ice. I don't like the anti tough style, puckpossion is nice as long as you are a powerhouse team but with diminishing skills it'boring. There is a reason why fans are cheering for fights and bonecrushing hits, you think Orr, Thornton or Scott won't jump Kronwall after one of his hits? -sigh- sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

The beginning of a new season.

Realistically this team is a lot like last years, it still needs to be seen what Alfie has left in the tank and how Weiss adopts the DetroitRedWings system. These two will need very good seasons in order to relieve the pressure from Zetterberg and Dstsyuk. The team still lacks size and grit and it will take it's toll over a full season. Personally I am looking forward to see what a bulked up Dekeyser can do and of course Tatars development other than that I expect a very familiar season, so something between 4 - 8 Boston, Pittsburgh, Ottawa, New York are better on paper. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Wings to Keep Tootoo?

It's false to assume that enforcers are there to change the outcome of a game, that's what guys like Sidney, Pavel or Suter are for. Enforcers are on the ice to protect the young and star players. Look at the Islanders teams.tried to bully them till they have had enough and took the Penguins to school score and fightingwise! Since then the Pens are bringing more of a clean game against the Isles and the rest of the league took notice. I'd also like to add that the Send could ice a pretty tough team if you guys are.dressing Kassian, Neil and Carkner that's a very good 3 punch trio. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    buffalo and toronto fight

Well you can bet - like I have mentioned it in another topic - Orr and McLaren will jump other star players now. So teams without enforcers have to bring these guys in otherwise concussions, broken jaws and broken foots are going to happen. Scott, Orr, Mclaren, Engellland, Bouilton, Lucic, Thornton, 3PL this division is going to be a physical disaster, if a team doesn't have an enforcer. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Wings to Keep Tootoo?

can't believe that people are still questioning the role of enforcers. Look no further than Toronto or Edmonton, the Canucks tried to take advantage of them and Kassian broke Gagners jaw with a stupid reckless stickswing. What does MacTavish do? he gets the best Guy for the job and people can already bet on Kassian having to dance with the beast that is Macintyre. you think Weber would have lost his temper if the Wings had a guy like him Orr or MacGrattan? no way even Eakins stated that Mac will "help" other players to keep their sticks down. After what happened with Scott and Kessel, one can almost count on the Leafs enforcers to jump other players and yes, this includes Zetterberg and Datsyuk. A guy like Tootoo scares nobody but beasts like Scott do.. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

    Petr Mrazek or Jonas Gustvsson

I wish Jonas The Monster Gustavsson nothing but the best, he has gone through a lot and still keeps on battling injuries. That said I want him to backup Jimmy, show his worth and finally get the starter position somewhere next season. He just needs confidence and a few games to show what he can do, I remember his play in Toronto when Reimer was hurt, this guy played outstanding hockey. Mrazek could and should use the time to improve with the grand rapids. sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!

Torres out with ACL for the Sharks?

Me 2 I can't for the sake of myself understand how Kronwall can be connected to these two carreer-killers. Getting Kronwalled is for sure tough and hard but Cooke and Torres are headhunting idiots. Ask Savard, Hossa and of course Karlsson and they are just a few examples for their "accomplishments" sent from a mobile device autocorrections errors are possible!
