I really hope the players drag this out till the owners are coming to their senses and/or are firing this 8 million waste of human flesh. Record revenues but some franchises are losing money? Move them to places that do appreciate hockey or open the real books! Even the guy who owned the Yotes sold them for way more than they are worth. The real pressure on both sides will start once the fans are pissed off and stop caring about the NHL. Go on midget cancel the Winter Classic and have Illitch and Tannenbaum against ya even more. Cleary does have a point tough if the lockout goes over a year fans are going to stay away and at that point both sides better get a deal done. The owners might have more money but premium prices require a premium product. Teams like LA need to use the Stanley Cup to build a fanbase there.. They do have interest in playing hockey, otherwise they'd just be sitting at home and counting their tons of super cars. These guys are going to europe in order to play the sport they love endlessly. How about all these pro owners people just pay a premium fee to see/watch the owners play hockey, if the players are only cottles?! I for one want to see the best athletes getting what they are worth and both sides agreed to some deals during the last weeks, months or even years. I am sure a league with the owners playing hockey and the effing midget as a ref would sell out every game.

Call me crazy or revengehungry but after this whole crapfest I'd love to see some competing leagues in Europe. Fehr already said rollbacks are *not* an option. Whenever the NHL sense is coming back to earth. Players are willing to give so has to be the NHL. Yet, millions of people are paying a good amount of money to see them play, watch them, buy jerseys and other merchandise stuff. We can use jawyers too: You know some of them are making sure crime gets punished as hard as possible and yet none of them is making 8 million a year but for some reason, a guy who should have been fired long time ago is making maybe 10 times of wat society important lawyers are making.

How long till the NHLPA will go to war? I'd tell the owners listen "we both want to get over with this and both sides need a fair deal". Some ownera s like G. Molson and the Rangerguy are not happy with the lockout and I am sure Mr. I isn't either. So the only one standing in the way of a fair deal ist Bettman I'd really push the agenda to get him fired.

I wouldn't want a championship like that, may be in the minority but I prefer them fair and square (no stupid schedule advancement hear that midget?!, or injured players ...). Sure it will be a shortened season if one at all but I don't think it will benefit this team. Like evil mentioned, some guys need to step up big-time others need every on-ice minute they can get so not the best time for a shortened season from a drw pov.
