? Your post was about something more union than sports related. Mine is an real"world" example of what the owners want and why it doesn't even make sense - nor would it be possible - in rl.
-
Interesting I could easily see C - Zetterberg A - Kronwall A - Datsyuk A - if rotating Helm/Filps

I think what the Leafs really need is a way better GM. Brian Burke is using this club since his arrival for his stupid political or loyalist whatever agenda and especially self-promotion. Sometimes I am really wondering if he didn't have a microphone while growing up? Ron Wilson - his first star....fired Francois Allaire - according to him the best goalie coach on the planet...fired next one? hopefully B rian Burke The fans and especially some of their players (Lupul, Kessel and Phaneuf) deserve a better GM. I am also sure Rogers and Bell won't be too happy paying him 2 m bucks annually without making the playoffs, so this is going to be his put up or shut up year.

Ok my bad then should have clarified it: Basically some owners bought the car for the full price but they knew fully well, this is not what they are willing to pay for it. They aren't asking for repossession, owners want to keep the car but not pay the demanded price for it although they've agreed to do so weeks/months.

I expect it to come down to Stevie versus Lidas
-
Fact of the matter is, this is a partnership and a partnership should benefit both sides. I am more than sure some players made all these concessions last time because they were thinking "we are done with that crap finally" but no here we go again. If owners really have given out contracts they never expected to life up to well then things could get ugly for them. I mean, I am not going to buy a car for 50.000 and then all of a sudden decide I am only willing or able to pay 25, 30 or whatever less for it, business doesn't work that way.

Ami mind discussing your hate for unions in the politics session of this board? Thought we should only discuss the lockout not the cons and pros of unions.
-
The players agreed to help out and give some concessions over time but the midget said he wanted an immediate paycut + rollback + their ridiculous playerright terms which will never happen. Fehr did a good job explaining the players starting offer, basically it came down to - 4,5 % over 3 years and if revenue keeps increasing go up again which is a really fair one in my mind. *lol* yeah laughed at that and really I think it is an accurate one.
-
Really nice *lol* I think even Daily would be a better commissioner than thiis stupid midget at least he acknowledged some sorts of the partnership but absolutely refused an answer for the Phoenix fiasco. Sure all owners might have raised their hand for a lockout but I am sure not all are happy with it. Also Teemu Selanne has dedicated a nice blog to the overall so loved midget called "Bettman what gives?"

Would be nice to be JB but sadly I am not. Well there is always the option of relocation, its not the players fault that some franchises just aren't performing and are located in some very questionable hockeymarkets, while you have cities like Hamilton, Quebec City and others dieing for a team. Let teams spend whatever they want and be done with it, this forced balance has led to more trouble than the non CBA stuff we've had before. Like I said both sides have to be willing to give a bit but so far only the players have shown that, if the NHL does the same thing I'll be the first to acknowledge it in a positive manner but so far they haven't.
-
Thats what I was thinking too after reading their so called proposal. I understand you should aim high at the beginning but the league simply has gone overboard with the initial offer. The only one close to a somewhat okayish starting point has been there resent one. Players showed they are willing to give up some piece of the cake so lets say if they give up 5 %, the NHL gets plus 1 year on the CBA and other stuff like ELC, UFA and arbitration rights are staying we should have a deal by now? Both sides would make some concessions but keeping their face and if on top of that the struggling franchises still can't turn into decent ones relocate them. Read a midget quote like "we need a CBA that is fair to all 30 franchises" I can call BS this will never happen. A fair CBA for owners like Wang would mean his players are having no rights at all and all are s slightly paid above league minimu.
-
Hard question but giving the edge to Datsyuk here simple because I haven't seen a lot of Feds and with Datsyuk on the ice you know some magici s going to happen soon. I am sure Suter or was it Weber? is still having nightmares about his dangles.

Wings to Europe: Tracking which DRW players are playing where
frankgrimes replied to evilmrt's topic in General
Most of them would be overagers in the AHL and only 4 per team are allowed, also they can make more money in europe while not having to pay such enormous tax fees. -
The current Detroit Red Wings core consists of players like Z, Datsyuk, Kronwall, Howy ...so no I wouldn't watch i t because deep in my heart I know" they wouldn't be the Wings. Also watching them would signal the owners:,, "hey we can throw a bunch of players in a jersey and fans are coming back lets add that to our lockout leverage next time and ask them for a 25/75 split" - sorry but I won't bite. Bring back the current players with a fair deal or screw you! Overall though yes I agree, it is a combination of team and players.
-
Zetterberg or Kronwall Helm isn't ready yet for this duty.
-
At this point there can't be any other option. This guy would risk not only getting boo'ed but like you said people throwing stuff at him and trying to get swings, players might not even want to touch the Stanley Cup because of the midget. These greedy owners can love him my ass this time it is different and there is pressure: - struggling franchises won't survive an extended lockout meaning *his* expansion teams are going to relocate or fold - players *do* have options *caugh* KHL *caugh* - fans and media are siding heavily with the players The owners might have the big pockets but NHLPA has the power in this case. Surprisingly I am sure the NHL will shutdown all contact options soon but whatever, I am going to enjoy other leagues if those greedy bastards someday decide to provide a fair offer for both sides we will know anyway thanks to tsn. Sadly things like MLB or NFL aren't options for me becaus I think both sports are extremely boring, tried to watch a Baseballgame yesterday using StreamTorrent but seriously after over 2,5 hours I just had to turn it off it was like waiting forever for something to happen *lol*
-
I guess we are all in a bad mood thanks to the lockout, so I've been thinking about a rival league, basics: - no cap - luxury tax - original 6 teams + Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington, Vancouver - commissioner voted 50/50 by players and owners Thats ten teams who are doing well and right now are paying for some failed franchises. I think the players would appreciate a league without a CBA. If the stars are flying into the rival league and leaving the NHL behind I think there is a big chance this league could overtake the NHL given some time. I mean, which teams would fans rather see Wings versus Rangers or Coyotes versus Blues? *lol*

Wings to Europe: Tracking which DRW players are playing where

Toews was linked to a Swiss Elite club named EV ZUG -
Blocked nhl.com and all of its affiliates with my firewall, sick of reading the PR crap and not giving those greedy owners any hits as long as the midget will be hired instead of fired. His success are failed expansions, failed CBA negotiations in 3 of 3 tries wow what a great track record.
-
Go Datsyuk finally his old club gets to see the Coperfield of icehockey happy for him.
-
I don't even need to think who I am siding with, it is so easy a monkey could make that decision. The players are the ones I am cheering for, the players are giving their heart & soul every minute for our Entertainment they want a fair deal, the midget and those greedy billionaires want a screw you deal. If I am fair the first thing I'd make clear is to can the so called commissioner otherwhise there won't any negotiations for the time being. Record revenues since 7 freaking years and yet here we go with a lockout again and the same bs in 7 years again, rince repat owners and midget can go jump of a bridge couldn't care less greedy a....h...s
-
All hail the hardworking, great hockeymind, always fair and never at fault midget and his stupid wellfare teams. Blame als has to go to all the greedy bastard owners who just can't found a way to screw all the momentum the NHL had. Superb job really worth wasting 8.000.000 for midgetlike hat-trick. Record revenues, recod attendances and growth over the last 7 years hey lets lockout the player again, so we can keep all these failed franchises and piss poor playing owners alive right? Screw you NHL; I am happily watching the SEL, AHL and NLA hope the players wait this out as long as it takes otherwhise the damn midget will lock them out everytime they aren't accepting such insulting proposals. God I still can't believe it, stubborn owners keeping this damn commissioner employed. Sure Ecclestone and Blatter are worse than the mafia but midget is easily top 5 in terms of worst sports commissioners ever. May he be attacked by a furious octopus.
-
Well if you "own" the team it is yours so that should be a possibility.
-
This thing keeps getting better and better thanks to an absolutely insulting starting offer. I really don't expect any NLL hockey this year.
-
Sam here I mean what is the point of paying 200 m but not receiving anything? I think there must be some 'out-clauses' or stuff like that otherwhise it would be completely bogus.
